I would like to hear from anyone or off anyone they know who does betterware and if it gives them a good income.
I have read the basics of it and like the sound of not having to buy my own magazines like some of the others- eg kleeneze
I dont get a betterware magazine so i am hoping there isnt one been done around my area however someone has just started delivering kleeneze so dont know if that could be some competition.
I am looking to do this for march as i am on maternity right now and want to remain a sahm but need to get something by then otherwise i will have to go back. My husband works but his wage wont be enough to survive on.
I could be happy tp make £60 or more a week.
Does anyone know of any other home jobs?
I have looked into AQA but they are not looking in uk right now
thx

Hi
I work from home after deciding to be a sahm 3 years ago after having my 2nd child. I do Usborne Childrens books and I chose Usborne as it fits in with my family and I can work when I want to. Plus there are so many places you can go with the books
Chose something you are going to enjoy
Would you be ok with delivering catalogues in the pouring rain ?
Try and see the long term benefits of working from home
If you want anymore information on Usborne feel free to pm me. Its £19 to join at the moment and this gives you everything to get you started. There should also be an Usborne thread somewhere on this board that was started a while back.
Good luck in whatever you decide0 -
Hello. My wife and i have been doing betterware since September. Its actually really helped us out financially but its not life changing.
Basically, with the credit crunch and everything going up we needed more cash and i got moved to an office about 10 miles away that cost about 60 quid a month in travel that they wouldnt reimburse me so i said to my wife 'we need to earn money from somewhere.' I had been offered a multi-level marketing thing with Vitamins but that was impossible and i didnt realise it was all about recruting everyone under the sun.
Anyway, we have got intot he swing of betterware now and it gets easier but it isnt guaranteed money. If you can get into the mindset that its a hobby or a good walk then you wont be dissapointed. Generally the statistics i think are that you will get an order 1 in 10 houses.
We do an area that has had betterware for years and expect it and its very elderly which i think makes it popular. The wealthy areas dont order anything but the lesser areas can be really popular for some reason. For instance, i did one posh road with huge front gardens that tired me out and didnt get one order but i did a terraced close round the corner and got loads of orders.
The most we have made is £74 one week before xmas on about 150 catalgogues. The average has been 40-50 quid It does take a lot fo time up. delivering 200 catalgoues will take you around 2 hours. collecting them in about the same and then you have to pick the items up and then deliver them and you cant really do this in the winter evenings.
The thing that keeps me going is that you do hear genuinely of people getting 600 quids worth of orders on sales and thats a good commission.
I try and get the catalgues out before i start work but if you arent working then the day time is great to do it. You could do it Saturday if its better time wise.
Sorry for the long post. Cant sleep.0 -
I am a betterware coordinator and that is rubbish we are not paid by a wage we are also commision based and yes there are people in kleeneze doing very well but there are less people getting the cheques like you have described than you seem to make out.0

Hi i'v tried beterware but the products arn't that good, you dont pay for books and get a manager calling at your door everyweek so you can pay in the money to her/him the rest is yours (*commision) you only make 20percent also i'm not sure if u can order online or not because when i did it you couldn't you had to fill in a long order sheet
i give up as i wasn't making any money maybe 20 pound every month
you get a selected 'territory' to put your books, and area mangers dont like giving out a lot of houses as they would rather save these for new reps so it's hard building up your buisness.
I'm doing avon and !!!!!!!! right now i think you will enjoy that a lot more you get a rep magazine every 3 wks with avon with product info and selling tips plus you get pages of discount products that are for reps only, the website is great with loads of tips and letters ect you also get a rep forum thst is busy 24/7 for help and advice if you make pc club,
you get a fixed territory like betterware or you can sell to family and friends.
you have to buy the brochures but they are quite cheap and you can reuse them. if you need someone to sign you up i can get my sales leader to do it straight away just pm though here. it's 25 percent commision with avon and there's online ordering or you can do it over the telephone by pressing the product numbers in it's very easy to do. You get a delivery every 3 weeks or more often if you like delivery is free if it's a main 3 week order but a 2.50 charge if you put in a order any other time, you get your delivery and deliver to your customers then pay avon online or at PO anything left over is yours.
!!!!!!!! is a swedish cosmetic company they sell some really nice products skin care / makeup/ ect just like avon but the commision with them is 30 percent you dont get a fixed area so can put you books anywhere you like you can also get into leadership with is good money and you dont have to sign reps up face to face either you can do this by post. you have to pay for the books there's a new one out every month but these are fairly cheap.
good luck in whatever you do :T0 -

Hi Jadey
my friend and her husband do betterware and they quite enjoy it although they don't earn much money from it - they see it as time together and keep fit (all that walking) - I have helped them do the books and is really quite easy and simple not sure about the paperwork afterwards.
I work with a party plan company and Im loving it - Partylite - as it costs nothing to start up which is unlike most other party plans so you can try it and has no cost to you other than your time.
Hope this helps and good luck with your choices!I get paid to party!:rotfl:0 -
I am an avon rep.
I have been working with avon since May last year and thoroughly enjoy it.
I have only tried Kleeneze, I did not do very well with it and found it harder work than Avon.
I would recommend becoming an Avon Representative.0 -
I do Avon & Kleeneze - I'll definately carry on with Avon, it's so easy to get loads of orders without much work - everybody wants make-up/toiletries! But, with Kleeneze you could make lots of money to if you have the time. The books are quite expensive, but can be used for 6 months before the next issue comes out, but you don't have a fixed area which is both good & bad! Good in that you have no limit on how many houses you do - both me and my partner work full-time and just about manage to deliver to 400 houses each work on average (200 books being used twice a week). But, it's also bad in that the houses you go to could have already had 2 other Kleeneze books from other distributors in that week (as we've found!!!) and will get quite funny with you when you ask for them back as people don't realise that you are different than the previous people!
We applied for Betterware, but haven't heard back yet as there isn't a sales leader in our area - but for Betterware I think they could probably dictate to you a lot more on how many houses you HAVE to do, whereas Avon & Kleeneze leave it up to you. Maybe you could do both Avon & Kleeneze/Betterware? As Avon doesn't compete with either of those brands and would help to top your income up even more, especially if you have a large group of family/friends that would order, and with you having a baby there would be lots of opportunities to get other new mums to buy products at baby groups/nursey etc?
Good luck with whatever you decide!Avon Lady since 2009 - I help on the Avon hints & tips thread to help other reps/new sales leaders as I was helped so much by it when I first started out :A0 -
I've not done Betterware but I did give Kleeneze a go and I would advise that you think v carefully about actually doing it. The problems I had/would have are as follows:
1. It can be quite demotivating spending all that time doing catalogues when you don't get any/v big orders. You need to do a lot of cats every day to make any cash really.
2. Catalogues are heavy (I did them with my pram and even that was hard)
3. The products sold by Bware and Keze are not very high quality and not very cheap - think Woolworths and look what happened there! I wasn't proud of the product and got a lot of calls for refunds because it's cheap tat
4. At the moment you need to take into account the current climate - try and find a "recession-proof" product. I don't think Bware and Keze offer this as you can get the same thing cheaper in the supermarkets and the things that are exclusive are just bits of crap. They trade on repeat purchases of consumables but are people really willing to pay the same for their brand of washing powder (eg) as they can get Persil for in supermarkets. At the moment the consumer is looking for the best deal and ways to save.
5. the cats may be free but are there other costs to think about - delivery charges, internet usage charge (Keze charge you), order pads, petrol, etc
If after considering all this you decide it's the thing for you be prepared to put in the leg work and you should make a little extra. it's just worth doing your research.
I now do Usborne books instead which I find better as I am proud of the product I sell. I know that it's high quality and while other shops do sell our books cheaper than us sometimes, we also have some great offers. Also, I don't know how much Bware costs but Keze was over £100, including start up cats, and I had nothing to show at the end. Usborne is £38 and any books that don't sell get given to my own kids! If you want more info on Usborne PM me -I've gone on for long enough!!!
Good luck with whatever you do
