You need to be in touch with the housing people. They may tell you that you should not leave when the lease is up but wait for the landlord to evict you. If you don't follow their instructions they may decide they have no obligation to help you.

Please check that you are getting all the HB/ LHA you are entitled to, if the council decide you are homeless because you didn't pay the rent, they could decide they have no obligation to house you!

OP tomorrow morning give Shelter a call. It's free from a landline and their lines open at 8am. Keep trying if you can't get through. Number is 0808 800 4444. Make it very clear when you call them that you have a child who has medical problems.
    I'm not cynical I'm realistic :p

(If a link I give opens pop ups I won't know I don't use windows)

You need to make sure you are claiming HB or LHA - that should give you enough money to pay the rent.

Ring shelter. Take proper advice about benefits.

Have you got friends with a spare room/sofa?

If you OH is self employed - surely he can claim working tax credit? It might not be much but at least it will be a help and I think I am right in saying that you can claim housing benefit and council tax benefit.

I don't normally come onto this board to be truthful and was directed here by another MSEr who had posted on the Debt Free Wannabe board. Please can you post your SOA (Statement of Affairs) using https://www.makesenseofcards.com/soacalc.html (there is a button on there to formulate it to MSE and you then need to copy and paste it here or on DFW).

I was also under the impression that if you get evicted due to not paying your rent, it is classified as making yourself intentionally homeless, so the council has no obligation to house you.

Have you tried to find any type of work at all? Factory jobs? Night shift?
Should've = Should HAVE (not 'of')
Would've = Would HAVE (not 'of')

No, I am not perfect, but yes I do judge people on their use of basic English language. If you didn't know the above, then learn it! (If English is your second language, then you are forgiven!)
