On the OS board they rant about Stardrops for cleaning just about everything ... I wonder if any of them have ever tried it for washer water (I wonder what's in it, I have never seen any)0

I took back some ordinary Halfords stuff a few years ago, after it was turning slushy in seconds at minus 3 on about 20-30% mix; I wonder if perhaps the alcohol was evaporating too fast. I use Decosol; I don't know if it's the best, or what it contains, but I've had no problems even when below freezing for two continuous days including minus 15 and 75 mph; you need it to work well then to get the dried salt off.0

My old escort had lovely regular rust patterns on the roof over the windscreen from using washing up liquid as screenwash. The truth may be out there, but the lies are inside your head. Terry Pratchett

I have a BMW and use the BMW screen wash, works a treet, however you will get issues when mixed with something else, for example BMW stuff mixed with Halfords stuff and it will turn to gel and block your pumps/tubes, I got some BMW stuff from a dealer, £1.70 a bottle and did a 50/50 mix and have not had any problems.
Just remember to stick to 1 brand to avoid the issue returningGetting thrifty in my old age!:beer:0 -

Sorry, can't stop laughing at your reply!:rotfl:
Feel free to carry on with the Fairy Liquid though (or Stardrops, same results possible).
However, read this http://www.honestjohn.co.uk/forum/post/index.htm?t=39340 and make up your own mind.0 -
I use ASDA cheapo blue. about 10% during the summer. 50% in there at the moment to stop it freezing. The key to not getting gunked up is to replace it if you haven't used it for a while.0
