Options
Having just had my washer bottle cleaned of Halford's gunk, what is the best all-rounder fluid to use to avoid this happeneing again?

Thanks.

I just use tap water. As spending most of my life on the motorway I soon get thru screen wash.

My dad used to put Fairy Liquid in his year ago (other washing detergents are available from good stockists...)

    bmw but same nationality......
  • i found putting hot water in and squirting it out over a period of 10 minutes or so (not to burn the motor out) would help remove the gunk etc

VW group vehicles with fan spray jets can only use the special fluid available from .... you guessed it ...... VW, but many forums recommend the Halfords Lemon Super Concentrate as it contains water softeners. Expensive, but on 3 for 2 nowhere near as expensive as the VW stuff.

Yes it might, but it also contains stuff which is not recommended for car paintwork. That's why it's, and washing up detergent in general, is not advised to be used as a car shampoo
