ha ha, I'm not telling :)

I've spoke to the EA today to tell them the bad news, it seems like they've had hardly any interested and if we can sort the mortgage out when I get my accounts in 2 weeks, then they'd likely continue the sale where it left off.

If you were being cheeky and they've had so little interest, what about a lower offer? ;-)

Well, we are pondering over going back and saying "We've managed to get another mortgage sorted, but the most they'll give us is £85k", and see what they say.

That's the way to play it I think. :)

    UPDATE:

We think we've found another mortgage, this time with RBS who are right away quicker than the Abbey. We won't know for certain everything is ok until it reaches the underwriter, but hopefully we'll get the house.

I rang the EA to let them know that we've found another mortgage and that they should be contacted in a couple of days to arrange a survey....they told me they never withdrew our offer anyway, so we're just continuing as normal.

I can't believe its now been over 6 weeks and they're still happy for the sale to go through, especially when we were given 28 days. The market must be bad.

Hope things work out for you.

I recently discovered my acct is pants and they'd not done my self-assessment (As recent as Friday! And it's got to be done this week! ) - and they've not done my last years books yet...! Always good to keep on top of these things though - I'm kicking myself for not having chased it up sooner..

I know how you feel, my wife gets her accounts done straight away, but I'm lazy and always leave it until the last minute.....and now I wish I hadn't.

    Lesson learnt

Yup they're up to date month by month for the vatman but the year ones are due soon and haven't been done - they're blaming a merger - so I'm shifting to a new acct who's loads cheaper and specialises in my area of employment... If I hadn't been leaving I wouldn't have thought to ask about s-a return!

    Lesson also learnt! :)
