Hi all,
Okay my situation is as follows, we are in the process of buying a dutch barge to live on. At the moment we're staying in my parents empty house (bt landline, broadband disconnected) having moved from our rented accommodation (Virgin Media, still had two months left on contract).
For my work i really need to have broadband, there is no dial up on my laptop, so I am looking for either a broadband package i can easily cancel (one month contract etc) or one i can easily move on to the barges landline once we (if) move onboard.
Customer care and quality is of more importance than cost (within reason) for the broadband. Would love to hear anyones thoughts.
Many thanks Z
In case anyone has any other smart ideas my setup is as follows -
Imac pentium apple laptop
(also have emac and ibook g4)
Apple Iphone on o2 (can still get emails on this, but hard to type and attach!)
I have apple .mac account (me)
Standard bt landline at present house

Mobile broadband??? from £10 per month. Anywhere in the UK. (where reception is good). It's getting better now at 7.2Mbps. And no cancellation charges when you move. You can even use it on the move down the canal.:footie:
Regular savers earn 6% interest (HSBC, First Direct, M&S)
Loans cost 2.9% per year (Nationwide) = FREE money.

forgot to say, i already have this and it doesn't work here. Have checked all other providers too. The best reception was with t-mobile but they wouldn't even sell one citing poor reception.0

From what I believe the Post Office dont contract you so you could cancel with 30 days notice and not incurr a cancellation fee. I think they charge £106 or there abouts to activate the line for you. Its a bit of a hefty fee but cheaper than BT. I cant really recomend TalkTalk if you need to move about a lot due to the 18 month contract and the set up time for home mover requests but the Post Office could be worth looking into. Best to check everything with them though - dont go there on my say so!!
Cheers
