Thanks all but my wii is not attached to the internet....what it the best/easiest way to do this..there doesn't seem to be any cables in the wii box !
I do have a wirless internet at my house.
The Wii has wireless built in. Read the manual and it tells you how to do the setup.
There is awired solution but you need to pay extra for that, but as you have wireless already you won't need any.0 -
Bare in mind that there's nothing of any notable worth from the updates that have currently been released, and by updating it using Nintendo updates you can limit your options when it comes to hacking it, if you may ever want to do that...I am a cider drinker - like my father before me.0

Mind if I hijack, as you are fixed?
I had not realised the Wii was WiFi, so I have tried connecting. I have a Belkin Wireless router, WEP enabled, and am getting this error code. Now being non-tech, I am stuck here. The various helps suggest changing Channel to 11, but how do I get in to do that, and will it affect my PC Connection.
Also, if I have to manually set up the Wii, is the 'SSID' also within the Router software that I can find?
Any of that, and other help would be great!
Thanks.O would some power the giftie gie us to see ourselves as others see us.

Hi, take a look at this page for that error message. Also to change the channel you need to login to your router using this link and find the channel in the settings.0 -

OK First lets step back a little.
Have you got anything else running Wirelessly, do we know the wireless is turned on and working? By default routers usually come on channel 1 or 11, try picking another channel, if there are a lot of routers around you they may all be on the same channel. If you have other wireless devices working this probably isn't an issue.
The SSID is set on the router, think of it as the wireless network name. if you've not changed it it's probably BELKIN54G in your case. Does the Wii See it at all? As you said you have WEP enabled you (or someone else who set it up) has probably changed that to something else. Can you see the SSID you picked. You can alao hide the SSID so it may not be broadcast, that helps security but makes them a pig to set up right.
WEP has (usually) three settings Off, low strength 64 bit, and high 128bit. (It's not really high streght but you see my point) have you got the same settings on all devices? If you've set it to 128bit encryption on the router, but told the Wii it's 64 bit it won't work.
Are the Passphrase and SSID identical? These are case sensative Belkin54g is not the same as BELKIN54G or belkin54g.
Have you set MAC filtering? You may need to tell the router that it can talk to the Wii.
In the worst case reset the router and set it up with no security then add the security back in to all your wireless devices.0 -
Got it thanks guys, changing the Channel seemed to do it!O would some power the giftie gie us to see ourselves as others see us.
