  • being in debt is like a pink elephant in your livingroom no one wants to be the first to admit they can see it so everyone pretends its normal

i was paying the min payment on cards and using that money once cleared to pay the others and somehow in my mind i didnt see i was in trouble. so dont let them make you feel bad about how you got into the situation

Hi all, interview if finally over after 1 hour & 10 mins. I'm sorry to scare anybody who has yet to have this, but I am typing this with tears pouring down my cheeks. It was a lot worse than I expected, and my financial history, and incomes went back to when my kids were born over nine years ago (Ican't remember last week never mind 9 years ago).
I was made to feel really small when she asked when did I stop using the cards. I replied that was when I realised my income was not sufficient. To which she replied did I not realise that when I was doing balance transfers.
I know this will feel better in a few days time, but at the minute, I feel really lousy.

On a better note, she does not think that an IPA will be imposed at present, and I should be able to keep my car for work.

    Hi Nicky.

It is never easy to discuss your financial affairs with a total stranger. The interview is the apex of your whole bc. You are tired, stressed and ashamed. The tears are probably a mixture of relief and embaressment.

Those are all normal feelings. Look on the bright side. No IPA,you keep the car and best of all, thats it over now. Onwards and upwards to discharge now:D

Get a good sleep later and the whole thing will look differently in the morn.Dx

Many thanks for sharing you're experience, I'm stressing about the interview already and haven't even booked my date yet (tried to earlier but have to call back tomorrow).

I'm going to try and get a face-to-face interview as I dont do phones to well, although saying that maybe a phone one would stop me from waffling...

    Anyways, thanks once more.:T
  • Sorry to hear your interview was horrible. I also cried at my interview and the interview lasted just over an hour. To make things worse, the telephone interview started 10 minutes late and I sat there shaking like a leaf. My OR went back 5 years ago and like you, I couldnt remember details so far back. I did feel bad for a few days, however, coming on this site regularly helps me to move forward and each day is a day closer to discharge.

The tearfulness will eventually subside and you will rest in the knowledge knowing that none of your creditors can chase you for the money you owe in the future. Try to stay as positive as possible and you will get through this awful and difficult time.

Sorry to hear you had a bad experience. But chin up, the worst is over now. Get a good nights sleep, life will look a lot better in the morning. Honest! All over now.
