GET REAL ......Just pick up the phone ...it's good to talk !

Talk about being awkward and obstructive, a 2 min call would have resolved most of this at the beginning, now a 10min may do it, which is far less time than you have wasted typing your ineptitudes up on here and wasting vital cyber space ....really you deserve another bloody nose just for your incompetence ?

I have now contacted them via secure messaging. I do not want to talk to a debt collection team. I will be quizzed about my finances & no doubt they will want numbers. I would have to explain that everything is fine. Be patronized by being asked well why did you go overlimit?. This is all irrelevant as the money has been payed back. This company is a nightmare to deal with, with the suspect every transaction as fraud attitude, and every mistake you make means your in dire financial ruin. When the card is payed off it will be closed and I will never use them again.

That is, of course your perogative !
You need not give out any info if you choose not to..
Egg Money is a very unique card acc which is longer available. And is extemely useful for making money thru stoozing.
Egg continue to offer a fantasic almost charitable service to those who use the sytem properly .......but to break t&cs then refuse to comm with them is
    well......pathetic !

  • It's only useful for stoozing because of it's in credit interest rate and it's debateable how much longer that will actually last. They might reward stoozers but as a credit card company they are shocking. I'm sure many others will agree with you that they offer a fantastic service. Particularly those who've had their card declined and had to be taken to the managers office in tescos to get authorisation for £30 worth of shopping. lol

I have already chosen not to give them any info at all so that's why I'm not taking their calls or calling them. Tell me again why it's pathetic to not speak to someone when there is nothing to say?.

And if an online bank is calling itself an online bank with a decent secure messaging facility it should be using that to contact it's customers when there are minor problems. Of course no doubt if I did phone up, with my otherwise perfect credit history they would have the excuse to want to close my cards and hard sell me an egg loan to pay off the card debt. Or possibly sell me PPI, of course I would buy insurance of such a generous almost charitable company which has just been rapped for millions by the regulator for gros. Misselling. This firm should change it's name to rotten egg!.

Oh come on, that clearly states if your bankrupt, die or otherwise fail to adhere to the agreement. Whenever have you heard of a Cc company demanding full repayment for refusing to take their calls. if they demand it back I can pay it them in full immediately but if they got any funnier i would arrange payment of £1 a month with frozen interest through a solicitor. That suits me better than the £100 a month I'm paying at the moment on £1200 with interest.

    :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

Im sorry Bargins83, your attitude stinks. If you are in a position to clear the balance, why have you not done this? hardly very moneysaving.

You would have absolutely no chance of doing the above anyway, youre not in financial difficulty so they wont freeze your interest or give you reduced payments.

Egg wont call you from Collections if you arent in arrears...its common sense, hardly cost effective is it, wasting time to call you if theres no need. I suspect one of three things, 1. They were calling you to query transactions, 2. You were in arrears at the time or 3. You are making up this story.

If you dont like their service then get a BT to a 0% rate card (surely this will be easy for you if you have a perfect credit rating), if youre paying interest then you arent really benefiting from cashback.

    I agree with bargains83.

I have had s**t service from Egg recently, they use to be good, but now they are absolute rubbish. They hassle you for the slightest thing and when you call them you get this dreadful voice recognition software where you have to spell out your postcode, date of birth, name, mother's maiden name, several letters from your password etc. etc all to this machine which usually asks you to repeat what you have just said 4 times.

    It is useless.

Snorrrr, In the current economic climate only a fool would clear all their debts completely. The way lending is going, as soon as people settle their balances in full the card companies are liable to close accounts/cards, some lenders have already done this to people including ones with completely squeeky clean credit history and having no credit facilities available for emergencys is pure stupidity. As I said I could pay it in full today but it would leave me on a tight budget for a couple of months and I don't see why I should suffer.

There is an £800 balance carried on the card @ £100 a month that will probably take 9 months to clear, hardly a back breaking amount of time and the interest isn't either.

My example was meant to be a joke, but if my account was passed to a collections team over £9 they obviously thought I was in financial difficulty so If they wanted to discuss my situation and make changes and basically break the credit agreement I would be perfectly within my rights to re-negotiate credit terms as an agreement works both ways and before you start with spiel about me already breaking the credit agreement by going overlimit in the first place I have already resolved this by paying a £16 fine, and putting the account back square. Again they had no reason to hassle me to talk to a collections specialist after the account was put right.

I've already explained that Egg called me from collections 8 days after the account was all back straight. It was clearly a classic case of the right hand not knowing what the left is doing at Egg. I will gladly post a scan of one of the letters from collections sent out if you don't believe me, that said I don't have to justify myself to someone as unhelpful as you. :T

They were not calling to verify transactions as they messages left asked me to contact a specific person in collections and then gave a contact number. The letter said pretty much the same. I have not heard from them again since just after new year.

If you bothered to read the thread entirely. I have already said that the account had £1200 of available credit at the time the collections specialists came on the scene, it was not in arrears and I have never missed a direct debit. All I did was go overlimit by £9 for a few days at worst.

I have already said, if they don't unblock the card and give me an explaination of whats happened here then the card will be closed once its settled.

Yes of course, I made the whole story up, I have nothing better to do than concoct stories about rogue credit card companies, I've even made a fake letter up in Microsoft Paint incase you want me to post it. Perhaps you would also like to alert Egg to this thread so they can take me to court for slander and tarnishing their brand image without good reason. I'm itching for a good day in court and to get sent down. * :rotfl:

Like i said, £1 or £100, you're overlimit. Which puts you in that position to get phone calls from the people you're borrowing money off so they can establish just why you went over limit & whether or not they can diagnose you as a potential customer who might have a problem in the long run (Overlimit is the first signs)

Collections is just a term used for a team who deal with overlimit customers & customers who are past their due date for the statement.

    Norman,

It sounds to me like you must work as one of these zombie like and inhuman collectors with no understanding of people as you just don't seem to get why most people apart from you expect some form of humanity or discretion to be used by these companies.

I would honestly suggest that if you don't have anything better to do with your time that you don't post rather than making annoying and unconstructive posts clearly designed to upset the OP.
