It's that time again! I've posted my £150 overpayment for the month which reduces the mortgage to £136,481.65, the next formal mortgage payment is due next week though and so this will reduce further!
If only my interest rate wasn't 5.95% I would be quids in by now, oh well!Mortgage free wannabe!:

I'm gutted to find out this months mortgage payment has paid off just 112 off the mortgage

At least im overpaying, need to work on the offsetting element though. Im thinking of paying for everything other than cash withdrawals and bills on the credit card and then paying it off once a month following others advice.
The last month has been a bad one, I've had about ten birthdays to buy for and been away to amsterdam for my own birthday so my reserves have been run down and this has clearly impacted on the offsetting programme.
Hopefully I'll be in a better position next month

So its that time again!
I've managed to make a minimal improvement this month with my mortgage payment paying off 114 of the loan, plus my overpayment of 150 which has just been transferred.
So the mortgage is down to £136,104.12, sounds sad but I'm actually excited about next month beating the £136k barrier!
Small steps at a time though and I'll probably still be posting these updates in 25 years!! Its helping with my motivation though!
I've generally been a bit rubbish with money this month, buying lunch out too often and spending quite a lot on gig tickets, so this next month I'm going to get back to basics with my slow cooker and soup making again.
I've tried the credit card approach this month to help keep cash in my offset account but just feel like i have ended up spending more due to the out of sight out of mind mentality.
Therefore, i think I have come to the conclusion that I'm doing my best for the situation I am in but I need to maintain a life too!
I have a radio show that plays new music and therefore, I tend to have to invest in a lot of cds/tracks.. although I search for all legal downloads that I can and shop in second hand shops like vinyl exchange in Manchester, some things have to give I guess!
I hope everyone else is doing better than me!:rotfl:Mortgage free wannabe!:
