Best deals on Motorola V3

Hi all

My contract with vodafone is about to expire, and I am trying to negotiate a deal for a further 12 months.

I'm a low user, typically only 30 minutes a month with limited texting etc. The best deal they have offered me so far is a Motorola V3x free of charge on their 75 min package with a text bundle costing £10 / month for the first 9 months and then £20 per month for the last 3. Total cost in the year £150.

They keep pushing the fact that I can renegotiate the contract after month 9, so not to worry about the price hike in the last 3 months - however, I can't believe that any deal they would offer in Month 10 is going to be that great - has anyone any experience of this, or perhaps knows where I could get a better deal?

The deals on OneCompare etc. appear to be based on cash back offers, and I must say, I am somewhat sceptical.

Any advice would be welcome.

mmmm..... Just went back to vodafone to see if they would improve on this deal - and they now appear to not be interested in honouring the initial deal.

Their claim is that the offer was only valid for 24 hrs, but when I tried to go back within that time, no one could put me through to the agent I originally dealt with!

My contract was also about to expire. I wrote to cancel and was phoned and offered free Motorola v3x 100 mins and 50 texts for £15 per month. They offer best deal when you threaten to cancel.

O2 Lesuretime plus tarrif is £60 for 12 month term and includes 1000 off peak mins and 100 texts

Don't forget to use Quidco to save an extra £20!
