Expedia, whats the point?

  • I use Expedia flights and Lastminute hotels and theatre a fair bit.

For Expedia for example - I booked some BA flights last week that were 190 Euro each on the BA website, calculating to £180, checked on Expedia and the same flights were £140 per person. Must have been some discrepencies with the exchange rate or something.

The key is to use search a variety of sites and book the cheapest one. Always check booking direct with the airline or hotel first too. Quite often booking hotels direct can't match the prices on lastminute.

Expedia is generally what I use to book holidays - about 7 of my last 8 holidays booked through them. The only which I didn't was a short-haul/cheap holiday but in general, booking many long-haul holidays to USA and Asia they've been far and away the ones with not only the best prices but the greatest choice in terms of mixing and matching different options.

Lastminute i'm not a fan of as they don't give you as much choice and rarely find the cheapest price unless it's a poor package

I've just found a good deal on a hotel in Limerick, expedia has the best price by a mile for this hotel, about half the price of their competitors and I have been round the houses today.

I must admit that I usually end up booking through someone else though, no loyalty from me.
