I would say check with your doctor first.

With LighterLife you have to. You can't start unless you've had approval from your doctor first. You also have to get monthly check-ups. I used to get mine from the nurse at the surgery.

Some people in my class had to go to see a doctor privately because their own GP wouldn't sign approval.

the fact we spent lots of money means we are more likely to stick to it.

we all know the foods to avoid but lack the willpower ect to do it by ourselves.

By spending out we owe ourselves much more and we seem to buy willpower.

Sureslim is a set fee which made me consider it hard but thankfully it bought me the willpower I needed and 7 1/2 stone down cant be sneezed at.

    a piccie of my journey.

As said -= it doesnt matter how you do it as each person is different and its what suits. I never in a million years thought I could stop taking in milk, bread, potatoes - but I did it. I can have potatoes now which is nice.

Congratulations on the weight loss, what an achievement! I agree - most of the battle is sheer willpower and you obviously have that in spades. Off topic, can I just say, I love the jumper you're wearing in the bottom right photo - where did you get it?

I did LL March-June 2007. It was really difficult at times, I was in an unhappy relationship (or so i've realised now) He didn't support me neither did any of his family. I was at Uni at the time and found the going out after lectures couldn't really be done anymore.

In week 1 I lost 16lbs, it was amazing. I lost in total 4 stone. By Christmas I weighed less than I did when I finished LL and put some on over the festive period. I then had a few family problems and ended up putting on about 1.5 stones. I did Cambridge in March and began suffering with gastric problems. By June I became pregnant and am now 31 weeks and still don't weigh close to what I did when I first started LL. I'm now due to get married in December and want to lose some baby weight before then, so we'll have to see what happens.

It was an amazing diet though, the counselling was the best bit for me and doing Cambridge just didn't feel the same, it was a quick in, get packs and go home. It did work though.

the jumper was from a charity shop - less than £2 so was well pleased. The black and white dress was £2.49 - whilst losing weight I didnt want to spend a lot on clothes as I was falling out of them within a month so it was a thrifty time for me and thankfully a good charity shop in town at the time. gone expensive at the moment which is annoying.

    sorry off topic.

back to LL questions I think.

still suggest you look at sureslim too as you get blood tests to start off to make sure all ok and working with what foods you are allowed in your plan. You get regular one on one consultations too which are great. PLUS you get to eat real food which means the cost is less.

I have done lighterlife and also lipotrim, I'll be totally honest its the most disgusting thing on earth the thought of it makes me gag now :(

I can really recommed Slimming world, its cheaper and you get to eat as much as you want its just about changing the way you cook and eat.

I started LL at a size 18 I lost 3 stone in 5 months and now i've put it all back on and some.

My mum, step dad and step sister all did it at the same time and they've all put it back on and some.

I just dont want you to waste your money on something.

If you have anymore questions feel free to pm me

I did Cambridge and lost 4 1/2 stone with ease then got cholecystitis and had a cholecystectomy. Back on track now and never felt better. Hair and nails grow so well and i sleep like a baby. Good luck in your choice x

    Hiya,
I'm currently on Week 14 of Lighter Life, and have lost 6 stone! :j Personally, for me, it's one of the best things that I've ever done....however it's not for all - and has been very difficult at times. In fact several members dropped out from our group. It's not cheap either (£66 per week), however I felt that I needed to pay the extra money, as I felt that the counselling/cognitive therapy was going to be v. important in changing food habits & thought patterns! And so far, so good!

The Management Programme is the next stage where you gradually re-introduce food, and again...I think this is going to be an interesting/challenging stage for me too!

If you want any more info, feel free to pm me! Good luck! :T

Can I ask if your male or female as I have noticed that men do better on lighterlife than the women do, I don't know why that is but i've known quite a few men to do it and keep most of it off.

    Hiya,

I'm female (aged 26). Generally I understand that men lose weight much quicker...not too sure why...however I'm quite happy with the results so far (6 and a half stone; in just over three months :j!) It may be because I had quite a bit to lose that it came off quicker? But there is also another girl in my group who lost 6 stone in the three months too. However on average, Lighter Life suggest that the expected weight-loss in three months is 3 stone or so.

    Hope that helps! :)
