I am currently with Orange broadband. This is what i get for £35 a month +£45 lined bt rental (Sometimes goes up as much as £50 due to mobile and 2nd line).
I was looking at BT Total unlimited. Approximately £40 a month. I dont know much about it but i think that includes line rental. I heard that connections are bad and when theres heavy traffic the internet it goes down alot. Not sure if this is true. Whats others peops experience?
Keeping my options open. Need some experts advice on best deals and best service/connection and has to have free international calls. thanks!!
- which includes 2nd home phone with free international calls under 90 minutes, free uk calls
- mobile phone with 500 + 300 minutes anytime + 75 text

what package is your Orange broadband on ? is your mobile Orange ?
I had Dolphin 35 " websave " direct plan @ £30 a month 600mins/unlimited texts ( plus 200 Xtra mins ) & £5 Orange Broadband Unlimited ( discontinued ) with ( 3000 mins ) free to 100 International landlines, 01/02/03 UK landlines & Orange mobiles
call retentions get a better upgrade on your mobile account plan
choose a Nokia 6301 or a Blackberry 8120, 8320 or 8820 - Unique supported https://www.orange.co.uk/unique
and get free calls ( 1000 mins ) to 01/02/03, Orange mobiles & 30 Internernational landlines with any wi-fi connection
I used to get all that, £10 discount & £10 data credit a month = £15
I just downgraded after month 9 of my contract to Dolphin 25 websave £20 for 200 X net mins ( & kept my 200 extra ) & unlimited texts & till month 18
I now pay £5 Broadband and anything over my plan which is £0 a month !
Awesome deal for all them extra calls on second line & mobile, so go to retentions ask them for what you want & one of the Unique handsets above as Unique mobile gets you Broadband Unlimited for £5 - the old broadband rate
line rental stays with BT, if anyone has benefits get BT Basic for £15 a quarter, register your Orange second line with 18185.co.uk etc for calling mobiles...then Broadband & landline cost you £10 a month ! that beats even Talk Talk !!SO... now England its the Scots turn to say dont leave the UK, stay in Europe with us in the UK, dont let the tories fool you like they did us with empty lies... You will be leaving the UK aswell as Europe

I also have the broadband (with free line) live box and mobile phone. I thought i was getting a good deal. I gues not.
I don't really know how you get that price. I take it the priced you quoted in the begining was 2003 and no more.
How then do you now get £0 a month?
I'm really trying to cut down as i'm trying to clear my cards and save money. So any tips would be great.

what do you have on your account pages ?
mine

line rental £45 a month ? you mean 3 monthly or calls & line rental is £45 a month
dolphin 35 is on special at £25 - 2.5% vat http://shop.orange.co.uk/shop/show/offer/dolphin35?from=plans
so retentions ( disconnections ) should be able to do you a Nokia 6301 for less or the same ? Nokia 6301 stocks are trying to be clearedSO... now England its the Scots turn to say dont leave the UK, stay in Europe with us in the UK, dont let the tories fool you like they did us with empty lies... Mine is the same package but seem to be paying more extra. I think i will move as i can't always get a reception with orange. I then end up using the house phone alot. That probably why i have quite high bill. Then sometimes my mobile gets the irish network instead of orange that i end up paying more. I get this despite of being 30 miles away from the southern Irish border.
Update
I just spoke to Orange and aparently they have this 'unique phones' that allows you to connect to your broadband to enhance network signal. This is great for me so looks like i could be staying with Orange. Thanks for the tip Diamond. New phone and cheaper contract. Just need to find out all phones with 'unique phone' specs.0 -
The penny drops eventually. I obviously don't know much about technology so i wasn't sure what you are talking about with unique phone. *blushing*
I was talking to orange retention dep and they said i can have some service which stops my phone from roaming. So that solves that problem. Aparently unique phone as you were saying is great for low connectivity so thats that sorted too.
Slow but got there in the end.
So far Orange is the best for its price.
As you said £25 for all new phones, unlimited broadband and second line. Whilsts 02 will charge me £22 just for broadband alone. I think i might be stiking to Orange after all and reduce my bt tarrif.
Thanks Diamondxxx0
