    Yipeeee:j :j :j

My heating is fixed and my house is warm, what a lovely man! He came out on a Sunday and said he couldn't have left me to get cold!!! (I would have popped next door to warm up at my in laws!)

    Right
have finished washing and the last lot is just about to get hung on the airer, I need to pack my bag for back to work tomorrow and find suitable clothes (training day-no children-heating off for the last 2 weeks) lots of layers I think!!!

for tomorrow I did my bathroom today, and changed my bed and lots of other stuff too so I think I'll just do my dailies and anything else that pops up!! I will have some planning to do for school as well which will no doubt take up some time too...:j

    Have a good week everyone
    xx

If you do have online with Abbey sign in and somewhere on theirmsite they will ask you to report this, if you dont do online banking with them phone them sometime this week and they may want you to forward a copy of the email, normally they use sent emailed to track where they are coming from and issue an alert to all customers.
I haven't but I googled them and found an e mail address dedicated to phishing scams@abbey so have forwarded it...I haven't time to phone them...

and Oddjob - d'you know what you started - a thank fest! :rotfl:

I've made my lunch for tomorrow and just need to check I've got everything I need in my bag. Why I am not looking forward to tomorrow  ? Still, only 6 weeks til half term ;)

Might pay my water bill online now - that'll be one thing I can cross off my list :D

  • Happy New Year to you all!

Hope you all had a good Christmas and new year. Had a busy couple of weeks and DH been off work all this time too so not really had chance to catch up with everyone.

Well, we had a good Christmas with one big exception.....SIL's husband walked out on her and their two children and about 7pm on Christmas Eve! There are not words strong enough to say what all the family feel about him. Even now he thinks he is justified in going on Christmas Eve and that the children are absolutely fine about it all. Turns out the affair that he apparently ended about 5 years ago never did end.

I want to try to help SIL but don't know the best thing to do. Have offered help with picking up kids from school anytime but except from that can anyone who has been in that position offer any advice as to what I can do?

Anyway, I'm in this week and good job its the bathroom as it is in desperate need of some attention.

And....our new year's resolution is to get up earlier in the week and all sit and have breakfast together. Previously we get up at last minute, DD1 sits and eats breakfast while we're getting ready then DD2 has to eat in record time before we dash out of the door. We are always on time for school but would rather not be quite so rushed. So to bed early for me tonight. Lights out by 10.30!

katartarina - sorry if I haven't spelled that right! You were asking about shiny sinks. On the American original Flylady, shining you sink last thing at night is a big thing - I'm not entirely sure we're all as good as that on here! However, the idea is that you do all the washing up before you go to bed, swish round the sink, and wipe it with a cloth, so in the morning it will be clean and shiny. It is quite motivating to find it all tidy and clean, and gradually you get the rest of the kitchen and house up to the same standard (in my case I'd have to put OH and three teenagers on ebay to achieve that) :D.

I confess that I always use bleach once a week on my stainless steel sink even though it is not recommended, and Stardrops when I think I need to during the week. Barkeeper's Friend is highly recommended too.

Thank you sexymouse for thanking me! Just the sort of thing I'd get hooked on, so probably just as well that I've been too busy today doing this week's planning - now all finished. Hope all goes well for you tomorrow. I am so not wanting to go to school tomorrow!
As well as the planning, I have made Sunday lunch, washed DD's bedlinen, and started swapping the old pillows for new ones that I bought yesterday. I also nipped downtown with DD who wanted to get birthday presents for twin friends, and treated myself to a couple of books in the Oxfam bookshop. I'll go and read a bit of one in a minute, and I also want to finish one of the socks tonight. The other one needs the toe unpicking as I made the foot too short when I wasn't paying attention before Christmas.

Must go get something to eat, and make choc fudge icing for this week's traybake for the teens to take to school.

I shall be flying this week, but not tomorrow as I'm at school, and anyway, I did the bathroom on Saturday...

  • I'm in too pigpen. The bathroom looks like an easy place to start for me.

After dipping in and out last week, I've taken the plunge and started the de-cluttering and cleaning. I spent yesterday and this morning sorting the kitchen - everything is clean and tidy in the cupboards&drawers and I've scrubbed almost everything else - cupboard doors, hob & oven, fridge, freezer, microwave, windows and patio door. I'd forgotten how good it all looks when it's sparkly clean (especially the windows and oven door). Just the kitchen floor left to do tonight. The cooker hood and the top of/underneath of the wall units are on next weekend's list as I find it much easier to do them in daylight and I'll not see any of that this week!

If I can keep up with flylady and get one room completely tidy with everything in its place each weekend then I can have the house clean and clutter free by the end of February (then I'll need to venture into the garage if I can get in the door)!

Right, plan for tomorrow - I'll see how I get on when I get in from work but aiming for all the way up to level 3 except for washing the blinds, that's one step too far for me!

    Monday Mayhem..
    Level One
Clean the sinks, baths, toilets, showers etc
    Declutter the manky bathroom floor
    Level Two
Wash the window and clear the sill
Fling out all the empties from the bathroom
    Wipe the mouldy bits away
    Level Three
Scrub down the tiles.. defrag the pc while you do this!.. or virusscan or spyware scan
    Wash/vacuum the floor
    Wash the shower curtain/screen

    Extras
    1. Empty and clean out the bin
    2. Polish the mirrors
    3. Declutter the desk.. make it shine!
    4. Delete 50 unwanted emails from your inbox!
    5. Inventory the freezer
    6. Cancel Sky Movies
My MACAW challenge is to go to the gym three times this week as I must get back into the routine (not been since start of November) and I've said I'll do the Moonwalk in June.

I'm in... I need to get the study finished and keep everything else under control after the NYD/Saturday marathon!

Carried over from the last thread...

You see Mudbath - it works! Flyladies can change the world! I've just given some to my brother, and it means that they can afford to sort their kitchen out before they get married...

    Pigpen - fantastic news

Supergirl - keep it up, it'll be worth it (how long do you reckon it'll take for them to get it back to its original state ;) )

I have made a chocolate cake (will use choc. soured cream ganache as filling & topping), coconut cake (still in oven) and carrot cake (still in oven), as well as chocolate biscuit cake (in fridge). I think if I do an orange cake, apricot cake & possibly pigpen's marble cake, it SHOULD be enough for work on Tuesday... I might make a few spares for the freezer ;)

No time to post as parents need supervising :D Hugs all round...

... oh, and does anyone know where I can get white vinegar in decent quantities? I'm getting fed up with having to buy loads of those small glass bottles!
