Part 2 of your car mechanics....

Think of the tread as a series of square-edge blocks of rubber. Feathering becomes clear if the trailing edge of the block (ie that pointing to the back of the car when looking on the top of the tyre) instead of being nice and right angled, has lines running circumferentially making the edge look a bit "feathered" or worn. You need to look closely and this is before you get the bad tread wear, but correcting means you'll get a full life from the tyres (keep them inflated). Remember it can be on the outside or inside of the tyre.

Oh, so pretty, fluffy tyres are not good then  - I thought they were special girly ones :rotfl:

You don't NEED a new car, you WANT a new car, stop being naughty :naughty:. But if you must, look at Fiat Bravos (which I have, so SHUT UP Stuart :o), averages well over 50 to the gallon. Mine is a 1.6 diesel multijet, £35 road tax & 21,000 service interval, really good spec and I got brand new for just over 11k (over 30% off list price). And a nice girly pale blue metallic

Quite right TPA doesn't need one, she simply needs to spend a small sum which she will have budgeted for of course in her annual costs for running a car; you're naughty encouraging her to spend money - you women and shopping

(accelerates quickly away from the thread before abuse arrives from GG and TAP :o )
  • Cars the love of the moment then? :rotfl:

Not fair. Our diesel is a 2.2 litre Nissan Almera Tino - varies between about 35 - 50mpg depending on driving type, ie urban, motorway etc, BUT our road tax is a massive £170 compared to your £35 gg.

I'd consider swapping, except we like the massive boot space and storage in the floor.

I like the flippy in & out key & knob to hang my bag on. Plus, good mirror with light on driver's side, sooo helpful when touching up lipgloss :D

So from what GG is saying I could have a Bravo deisel with fluffy tyres, a flippy in & out key & knob to hang my bag on. Plus, good mirror with light on driver's side for my lip gloss, cheap tax for £11k new,,,,hmmm will look into this, whats the insurance like on it GG??

Evab, your focus obviously isn't a Friday afternoon one like mine!
