  • Good weekend to you all!

I had a no spend day yesterday so thats good. Today I did 3 MS's all for the same company and their reports take forever to write up, however they are all done now:j. I managed to get the dog food on one of the MSs so that was good discount.

I have planted two lots of potatos and bought some seed trays today (from the cheapy shop:money:). Tomatoes still not red:mad:. i want to eat them.......NOW.

We were chatting with my [STRIKE]outlaws[/STRIKE]inlaws earlier, discussing how my BILs job is not secure at the moment, we got onto mortgages and they asked how many years we had left on our mortage, we said 17 years then hubby piped up but we are hoping to pay it off in 5 years (said he didn't want to shock them too much and say 3 years!) FIL just could not get his head around this, I think he thinks we must have won the lottery:rotfl:. [STRIKE]Old people are funny[/STRIKE]. I don't think he understands the idea of overpayments.

  • I've just remembered I've got my 'professional fees' to pay this month, thats £160 gone:mad:.

Good job theres a local boot sale next weekend, just hope the weather is good, or I may still have boxes of [STRIKE]carp[/STRIKE] highly desirable items in my garage for months to come.

[STRIKE]I have[/STRIKE]Hubby has just updated our one and only spread sheet, currently at 55.37% in savings against remaining mortgage. Sounds great when I put it like that, when I realise we still need another 44.63% (or £37,723.48) it sounds depressing:eek:.

£38k isn't that bad, its a reasonable years pre-tax salary, from the ammount of bonuses your hubby seems to get I'm guessing he possibly gets more than this? Even so it'd only be about 1/4 of all after tax income for the next 3 years, even if you made no more from anywhere else!
    Debt January 1st 2018 £96,999.81
    Debt September 20th 2022 £2991.68- 96.92% paid off
    Met NIM 23/06/2008

Hubby got a great bonus this year (well deserved I must say, but even so most welcome). But I would never rely on any bonus as with the current economic climate just having a job is a bonus!! It would be nice if he earnt £38k but unfortuantly he doesn't:rotfl:. Obviously theres my wages to take into account too. The remaining amount equals just over third of what we take home per month -if we are working on paying it in three years.

I know it will be worth it in the end but sometimes I just want a blow out. (I don't really as I would be really peed off with myself if I did this:rotfl:)

    I'm waffling.........

How about this, you keep plugging away at the level you are, and any overshoot by your birthday can go on a huge blowout/amazing holiday/new car, whatever treat you want! I think you'll clear it several months in advance so you could get an awesome birthday pressie out of it!

You're right, I need to keep motivated, don't know what's the matter with me the last few days, just hope its not 'the black dog' returning, it often starts with me being negative for no real reason.

A new (or nearly new!:money::p) car will be most welcome in 3 years time as mine might well have fallen apart by then! Thats fords for you!

I could plan a joint 40th/mortgage free party, however I can feel the vibes already - I would love to tell my parents what we are doing but I know my Dad would react by saying something about my 'poor brother' who has 'issed most of his money against the wall, or wasted it on go faster stripes for one of his many vehicles, eats out every night has a mobile phone bill of over £100 per month, has all the latest gadgets/laptop etc........We all know someone like him, cannot aford to pay the basics but is happy to buy useless items at inflatted prices if it makes him look good, then sponges back to the bank of Mum & Dad with the latest sob story:mad:. OK rant over! Honest.

I am yet again soaked to the skin, one minute its raining the next the sun is shining, I will not dare to try and put anymore washing on the line!!

My newly planted seeds are going to drown at this rate!
