Thanks TPA, that's the same size as mine so that must be ok :)

    The .41 is very important!

    Mortgage-free Glee!
I have finally worked out the figures and updated my sig. Managed to find a further £500 to put away thanks to ebay and MSing, so this months figure is a fandabidozi £3,100.

    mfr_omg.gif that's fantastic

  • Had a bad day yesterday...let hubby come supermarket shopping with me...need I say more??
Why is it men (well my man anyway!) shop with no regards to best before dates, how much two of you can actually eat in a week, how many items fit in the fridge etc etc????? ARggggghhhhhh over £70 later we arrived home, didn't even have any alcohol in there!!:rotfl:

Mystery shopping still looking slow, although I did one yesterday, have two tomorrow one for Saturday then a blasting 7 for a week Monday:j (they are all reasonable payments too). But no where near the amount I did in May, lets hope it picks up over the next week or so, I havn't even managed to get a food jobs lately, oh imagine going out for a meal and having to pay it myself:eek:, it might well happen if I don't pick any up as hubby has got quite used to eating out at least once a week lately:eek:.

Well its been a fabulous weekend weather wise here, I hope everyones ok.

  • Mshopping today ended up being more productive than I thought it would. Got two jobs next door to one another, one email job and one phone call (to do with bigger boobies-which believe me in real life I do not need to change!!)

The one MS was a food job, I was surrounded by soldiers in uniform eating my lunch:o

Just picked up a nice one for Wednesday too.

Did everyone enjoy the fantastic weather this w/e?

So much has happened in just the few days I've been away; what will you achieve when I'm on holiday for two weeks!

Absolutely amazing OP, and great to see that offset (if you want to feel even better, go do the equivalent interest rate you are now paying on the mortgage too). Another major plus here is that as and when interest rates rise you'll only see them go up by 1/2 of the announced increase as typically savings rates lag changes, and you'll be closer to 75-80% offset by then anyway so changes will be about 0.2x the actual change. What better to see than that as you rapidly home in on that 38 month target.

Thank you Stuart, the savings is not officially in the 'offset pot' but in much higher savings accounts, all fixed ranging from 8% down to 4.07% whereas mortgage rate for us is currently 1.09%. Am I right in thinking this is the correct way to do things at the moment - even taking into account the tax rate on the interest it seems to be still to our advantage.

Something we must sort is husbands pension. Mine is with the NHS currently overpaying the maximum i'm allowed but his is more complicated. He worked in one job paying AVCs from 16 to 30 but when he moved jobs he was not allowed to port the pension. His company has been taken in the four years he has been there, again one pension unable to carry on. I must say I really don't understand pensions but am sure his will be pants!!

All well and good owning our home but no good if when we are retired we cannot afford to pay the bills. Having said that in a couple of years we will have much more free money to throw at the pension situation.:j

Afraid I don't understand pensions at all TPA, mine just comes out my wages and is a local authority one, which I gather are quite good, although I don't plan to work for the local authority until I retire, so I have no idea how this works!
    Debt January 1st 2018 £96,999.81
    Debt September 20th 2022 £2991.68- 96.92% paid off

    Shopping head again!

I want (sort of need too!) an arbour, really would like hard wood but only want to pay soft wood prices! (~Proper MSE me!) Found one on enchancagarden (cannot post the link for some reason) I like the 'Landini'. Does anyone have any thoughts/ideas?

Edit...now showing as out of stock! Poo

  • Oh dear,I found the Arbour cheaper in Argos of all places. Comes with a 15 year maufacturers warrenty against bugs(?) and rot. Went through Quidco for 1.5% back and paid with my Amercian Express so another 5% back there. Still cost £180 though:eek:. I have managed to pick up a few more MShopping jobs so that will help. In fact I have so many on Monday I cannot possibly think about all of them. Hope its not raining or it will be a pants day. The only problem is I cannot find any food jobs for Monday and could really do with having my lunch paid for if I'm going to be out all day.
