I've been using Poketalk for a while now but today can't make any calls as it says I've used my allowance of 30 calls up.(No calls made in last 3 weeks) and now need to sign up to ProTalk and credit my account!.Does anyone know if they have changed their conditions for 'Free' calls,as I was getting 30 Free calls a month.
Something very similar got me confused too, at first.
Like all VoIP services that I know, Poketalk program registers a call from the moment a call is initiated. That means even calls that do not get connected for some reason or other count towards 30 free calls. Place to check is your 'stats' page. It has a chart with calls that their program registered.

When you click "upgrade" you are taking to a payment screen. I don't know what the min. deposit is but you certainly can't make free phone-calls anymore without making a deposit.
Minimum deposit is $10 and it does not expire.
I took a Pro account cos couple of countries that I call are not on their free list. But I still get 30 free calls, same as before. Rates, free destinations, free-for-all policy etc can be found by clicking 'rates' on the green bar at the top.

A tip! when making small foreign currency payments, use a Nationwide Debit Card. You get VISA wholesale exchange rates. Nationwide do not charge anything.

saw this entry by PokeTalk at their Facebook:

".... limited accounts now have a total of 30 calls. This allows us to continue being efficient with low prices for Pro calls, reduce abusive users, and provide high quality calls. We hope you understand and continue enjoying PokeTALK's services."

"limited accounts" persumably mean free accounts.
No more 30 free calls per month, it seems.

don't know if PRO users will continue to get 30 free calls per month!

I opened a PokeTalk Pro account in mid 2009, attracted by their with their limited free calls (lasted only few months), 'web callback' and 'Local numbers' to dial direct without being on the internet.

Hadn't used it for while due to errors. Got quite a bit of credit left. So I tried again today. Made five calls. All except one failed :-(
Does anyone else still use Poke Talk?
