Hi, I have 2 contracts with t mobile which I am very happy with!
However, I have now got an unlocked and jailbreaked (not sure what it means) original iphone, I have an O2 Iphone PAYG sim which I can use, but the call prices are very high and would rather use my T Mobile sim and keep my number.
If I did this and added web and walk to my package what services would I be able to use for free (part of my contract) and what would I pay extra for? Would I be able to pick up and receive emails? browse the web, download the free apps from the apple store etc.
Any info would be welcome. By the way, I only have 2 months of my contract with T Mobile left so can leave soon if I need to!

Funny I'm looking at the same thing and also wondered what features will work and what I will need to pay for. Don't want to go with o2 because I have such a good deal on T mobile but want to use an Iphone.0

Don't! O2's iPhoine uses servers that allow the phone higher than average bandwidth transfers, that will be caught when non O2 networks/connections are made.0

Can't you stop it from using O2 servers? Surely you can configure the iphone to connect via t-mobile wap setting rather than O2's like any other phone?0 -
There is so much conflicting advice and opinions.
Is there anybody who has actually done this?0 -

You can use an original iPhone with T Mobile unlocked. You can also use Web and Walk, although with the original phone it uses Edge which is very slow indeed when you use the internet. You'll be able to check your email as well. Also, T Mobile will have a download usage limit on Web and Walk, so when you browse the internet, you will probably get past the limit quite quickly as the iPhone has such a good web browser. It may end up costing you a fair amount of money if you go past the allowance. This thread
http://forums.macrumors.com/showthread.php?t=359488
tells you the settings you need to add Edge on your phone.0
