A silly question, but help!

Hiya, I've just moved back into my mums and realised she's paying £17 for aol which is really rubbish. I've told her I'll get o2 installed as it's really good and a lot cheaper. When I phoned o2, they said it will take around 2weeks after I get to mac code to set up to use.
Does that mean we'll be internet-less for 2 weeks? Or will the aol service continue until the end of the month it's been paid for?
I know it's a silly question, but I need to know the answer as my sisters apparently need the internet for homework! (so that's what they call facebook nowadays.. )

Have you checked that O2 LLU is on your exchange? Two weeks is usually a maximum time and by using a MAC to switch, you should only lose BB for a very short time e.g. minutes. Blue text on this forum usually signifies hyperlinks, so click on them!..:wall:0

Well I've checked my postcode on the o2 site and yes, I can get it. Is that what you mean?Getting there... A deal at a time. :T0

Oh I've just checked and I'm a big green tick for everything!!
Does that mean it won't take as long then?Getting there... A deal at a time. :T0 -
o2 will inform you of a target date, your internet should continue to work with aol until this dayUtinam logica falsa tuam philosophiam totam suffodiant.0

If you are progressing this, get a MAC from AOL. Then, don't phone o2 to sign up - sign up for Quidco first (www.quidco.co.uk), go through them to the o2 website and get £70 cashback for signing up to o2 broadband online!

The op doesn't need to cancel, he just needs a MAC. That ensures no loss of broadband except for up to 30 mins for the change over.
However... once the OP is connected with 02 I would confirm the cancellation in writing to AOL as there are any number of instances of people who continue to be charged by AOL after leaving.0
