How to fit pre-painted skirting boards

Theres 3 ways to do this (with various combinations). You either nail/pin, gripfill or screw.
The first is the easiest to make good & easiest to remove. I use a nail gun, but you can get a very good result if you just use pins, a hammer & punch. Try & use the pins for one of the nail guns, probably somewhere like screwfix. They will need a little bit filler or decorators caulk to hide them.
Gripfill gives a good result & pretty easy to get the skirtings back off. Don't 'blob' it to the back, I find it best to run a thick 10mm-ish line zig-zagged on the back. This way you can get the skirting closer to the wall, so less gaps to fill later.
As for screwing them on, this is probably the most difficult. But as previous posters have said fill & then make good.

I used no more nails on ours. Dont be tempted to use a cheapo equivalent though it probably wont hold (as I found out). Use something good quality.0

Thanks to all of you for your suggestions.
The reason why I wanted to have removable boards is in case I need to repaint the floor/walls.
I think that I will go for the no more nails approach so I can keep the finished look on the boards.
Cheers,
