It will cost you a jiffy bag or strong envelope, plus second class postage. There is no charge to join the site or to make a swap. I have noticed that the swappers often put a small gift in with the book, I've had two very nice bookmarks so have made a few myself to put in with my swaps.
Its not a cheap way to get secondhand books. I have spent about £10 in postage to swap six books. Please dont guess at the postage, the post office slap on a 98p fine and you have to make a journey to the sorting office to pick the package up.0 -
Done so well with my swaps that my post office had to send the van out today with all my swaps, plus a couple of ebay purchases. All small parcels but the volume made up for the size!
Anyone know of how to get any cheap package though please?
Thanks0 -
I find it's a pretty cheap way to get secondhand books actually. You can re-use envelopes after all. Every time you send out a book you get one back in return so you get an envelope back as well, so I just stick a new label on the front of the envelope I got in the last swap and it's fine.
If you take care to stick to paperbacks it shouldn't cost more than £1 in postage which I think is a bargain personally! After all the choice is a lot bigger than most secondhand bookshops...0 -

Theyve added a lot of new features you can also see peoples ratings. Mind you Im slightly ticked off to see I got 2/5 from someone who also gave me 3 lots of 5/5 I can only assume the book was delayed. I can see this site improving LOTS in the near future0 -
Another great site you could try where you can swap used to books for new ones (or DVDs and games for that matter) is eswapnow.com .
It works differently from ReaditSwapit and both are good. I am members of both.
Anyway, hope you enjoy the tip!

Bookcrossing.com is big in my town.... you register a book with the site and then leave it somewhere public for someone else to find
They then register it with the site, read it, send it off into the world again etc etc you can then track it's travels... I've had one go from my town to Australia! Almost all of mine have been found by somene kind enough to register them on the site.... and I've found many great books too!

What has everyone's experince with greenmetropolis been like? Have you had many buyers? I have looked at it but am not totally convinced by it as £3.75 is alot for people to pay for second hand books. I may just list a few on it and see how they go.0
