Swap your read books

Options
I apologise now if this has been mentioned before but I cant see any sign of it so Ill take a chance.

I just discovered Read It, Swap It a site for booklovers! The idea being you list any books youre finished with & if someone fancies it they offer you a swap. Youre notified someone is interested & your given a link to all the books they have listed. If you see one you like you select it & agree the swap. All you do then is send them your book & wait for yours to arrive.

I registered yesterday & have had 5 swap offers so far. 3 Ive taken up, one Ive rejected (cos they didnt have anything I fancied) and 1 in still deciding.

I spend a fortune on ebay on books so this seems a perfect way to increase my reading without spending so much money.

The site is totally free, all it costs you is cost of postage for the book your sending out.

  • Great idea, thanks a million have loads of books cant be bothered to ebay or would only get pence for.

    Cheers
    This signature is not mine!
  • And one huge advantage over ebay is you dont have to type up ads etc.... all you do is put in the IBAN no & the site does the rest for you :)
  • Any suggestions please?

thanks for this, registered this morning and have already had one swap. book is all ready to be posted. I've been checking the prices on ebay and unless the book is brand new, they don't tend to go for much, so this is an excellent way of being able to read all the latest and save some money too. excellent find.
  • Just been on the site and it looks brilliant!! Can't wait to get swapping!
    Thanks!
  • My wife tried readitswapit last weekend and it worked very well. We put on about 20 books, very fast as you just enter the ISBN number (from the back of the book) and the site fills in the book picture, description, and link to reviews at Amazon. My wife had 5 swaps sorted over the weekend. The total cost to part with one book and receive the next is approx 80p (this is the cost of posting your book to your swapper). Apart from going down the library, you can't obtain books much cheaper than that......
  • Just got my first book delivered today. Not bad considering I only registered on Wednesday :)

This is great. Thanks to the Op- I registered and have 5 swaps in an hour. Good for the books that I have actually paid money for so feel I really don't want to just give them to a charity shop ( I know that would be best but I want new ones!) :j
  • just joined up and so far put up 28 books for swapping so if anyone wants to have a look my username is samanthaknd :D. What an excellent post Many thanks to OP. I LOVE books
