"Renting money is dead money" there is a bit of truth in that, but if one is smart enough, one could get around that, depending on the area. I lived in central London for 8 years, almost rent free.
It is quite easy and cheaper to rent a house, then sublet the rooms.Knowledge which is not acquired is knowledge that will never be applied.0 -

I was going to wade in to this thought provoking thread with its' analytical debate and erudite ideas and arguments, but realised that I simply don't understand some of the very complex financial theories being put forward both on the side of renting a property versus buying a property.
I bow down to all of your intellects. Your capacity for knowledge, reasoned discussion and respect for your fellow humans puts me in awe and I one day hope to join in with you all in considering the issues put forward. But, alas, today is not that day.0
