Cheapest Broadband...

I've read Martin's article on the cheapest broadband suppliers but I wanted to know who is the cheapest at the moment?

I'm a new user and I would preferably want no download limits... I also know that the line should be able to handle 2mb...

Thanks... :D

If you like gamble you could go e7Broadband.
They have some excellent deals, but it is a gamble.
If you get into a certain part of the network (as I have been) you will have excellent connectivity. If you happen to be in another part (bbuk) it will be hell, or at least it was for many for long time (e7 is slow to solve technical faults).

Better check on adslguide the current adsl charts if you prefer a less risky approach. Names that are mentioned often as good are zen and newnet (but prices are certainly much higher than e7)

Are you sure you want no download limits? How much do you normally download in a month?
  • Cheapest isn't necesarily the best! Services vary a lot, and judging by the comments on ADSLguide.org you get what you pay for.

If you've been with your current ISP for a year or more it may be worth your while phoning them up and threatening to quit for another supplier. I did and was eventually offered a 2MB line instead of the 1MB I currently have and for £17.99 monthly as opposed to the £23.44 advertised price that I've been paying until now!
Blessed are the geeks, for they shall inherit the Internet.

Miss Muppett, Why don't you read the "Broadband - who is the cheapest thread, loads of good advice on there.
    "0844 COSTS YOU MORE"
  • Here you go, this is the thread linked to Martin's latest article icon7.gif
