    Dont you find it wierd that an adult isnt allowed to look after a child yet a 16 year old can baby sit for money without any worries?

    Just found this

    I googled 'babysitting' then 'childminding', seems the difference is (though it's not very clear) - a babysitter goes to the child's house, a childminder stays home and the child goes to them. So the only difference is where you look after them?

    The other thing to remember is if you are taking money you would have to declare it to the tax man!!!! Childminders (apart from needing to be OFSTED registered) have to keep their own books, and fill in the self assessment forms each tax year!!!

    A friend pays her registered childminder £3.50 an hour, an extra £1 in charged for tea. I think amounts vary area to area.

    i did this a few years ago for a friend took her two kids to school and picked them up for a hour got a fence put in and she paid for it.. only trouble with helping is though what happens in the school holidays i had agreed to have her kids but after 6 weeks of it i got fed up .. luckily she changed her job hours so didnt need me to help..

    Friend pays £20 a week afaik, the neighbour takes the kids to school and has them for an hour or so after school.
