Tuna in brine v tuna in spring water

I always used to buy the tuna in springwater or brine and couldn't tell the difference, until one day by accident I got the tuna in sunflower oil and it was sooooo much nicer. Now I stock up on the no-drain tuna in sunflower oil whenever it is on offer.Jane

Salt is a preservative that gives it such a long shelf life. So if you plan on stocking up then buy with-salt aka in brine, if eating it soon then buy no-salt aka in water cause it's healthier.0
