Easier than saving as a .doc or .xls is to set Open Office up to automatically save as MS extensions.

This can be done simply from the TOOLS and then OPTIONS menu
It's taken me years of experience to get this cynical

    Hi

I wonder if someone can help me. How can I install a copy of Microsoft Office on my daughter net book as she does not have a disk drive?

I have the program on disk and the required number of licences but if I try to drag and drop it only copies over the shortcuts.

The only other way I could think of was to allow her to have access to see my programs as we are both wireless but im unsure how to do this? Would it be possible?

    Any help would be great.

    Thanks in advance

You can only use it on another machine by installing it on that machine, not copying the folder from your hard drive to hers. So you'll need to put the contents of the installation CD onto a flash drive.

The other problem is that the licence key is for one computer unless it's a volume one so even if you do install it, it'll not activate so she won't be able to use it after a month and it'll be restricted in the meantime.

When you say you are trying to drag and drop, are you trying to copy the contents of the install CD or the files that have been installed onto your computer? You need to do the first one, i.e. dragging the Word icon from your desktop won't work.
