Copying a program to flash drive?

Hi

I wonder if someone can help me. How can I install a copy of Microsoft Office on my daughter net book as she does not have a disk drive?

I have the program on disk and the required number of licences but if I try to drag and drop it only copies over the shortcuts.

The only other way I could think of was to allow her to have access to see my programs as we are both wireless but im unsure how to do this? Would it be possible?

Any help would be great.

Thanks in advance

Which version of Office? You may be able to download it from the Microsoft website.

easiest way is via a usb dvd drive (which I guess you haven't got)
plan b, network the 2 PCs, share the DVD drive that is available over the network and your daughter can install via the disk in that drive, but quite slowly (been there :( )

Do you have the cd/dvd ?
if so you can share the cd/dvd drive of the main pc/laptop and install it across the network
  • Buy a 4GB/8GB USB stick.. copy it onto there and install from that.

I already have a 4gb usb stick but i cant drag and drop so how do i copy?

I had thought about sharing the cd drive and installing it cross network but not sure how i would do that.

Could also buy a usb cd drive but was hoping not to do that.

    Its Office 97

    Thanks

highlight all the files on the disk (cd/dvd) right click>copy

I have already tried open office but she needs to do her homework on it and then transfer it to the school's portal but it wont accept open office.

Think im managing it. Have opened the files on the disk and now dragging and dropping to the flash drive. When i first tried it i was trying to drag and drop the whole file at once and it only coppied a shortcut and not the individual files.

I'll get back if it doesnt work.

On openoffice you can go to save as and change the format it saves as e.g. to windows word.

When you go to save the document/spreadsheet whatever from inside OO just select the save type as whatever the Microsoft office is at her school that they use.

Are both your computers connected to the same network? If so the easiest method as others have suggest will be to share the DVD drive on your desktop and access it from the netbook and install that way.
