Affiliates/Adsense

  • Both ways will work.

you cab earn a lot of money with adsense when you have many visitors on your site who are looking for particuler information.

Give them information they need, and they will click on the adsense links.

als affiliate is working well. don't use banners, they don't work and irritate people.

I agree with what a lot of people have written on this thread. To make any money from Adsense you need a lot of traffic to your website. If you create a blog on a niche subject and keep posting on a daily basis then this will increase your chances.

I have a couple of blogs.
One gets about 100-200 hits a day but that is from a google image search as the blog is on the top row of images returned on a google image search. I don't know from that how many people actually read the blog. I don't have anything on this blog to earn from it. Is there anything I could do to get a few quid from it? Its a blog about a health condition.

One of the other blogs I have just started is about going to the gym and is just my progress diary. It gets a few hits. An otherone gets about 10 hits a day and has links to books on Amazon and has earnt me about £3 in the past three months it has been running!

Any ideas on how to increase or generate earnings from (these) blogs? I am using blogger on one and wordpress on the others.

    Thanks.

How are you displaying your affiliate links? I'm no expert but if you want to post your blog(s) or PM them to me I may be able to give you some constructive criticism on layout/wording if you like?

I feel its a good way fo learning from eachother too. If you're getting 100-200 a day from one of your blogs you need to exploit it ASAP otherwise it's a waste of good traffic!

Sometimes I'm doing text links, sometimes with an image...I don't really know what I'm doing.

    I'll pm you the links,

I am a journalist who also runs a couple of websites, I have a vague plan of going freelance using them as a part of this.

I think you may be over-estimating the money to be made on such traffic. I get 1,000+ a day to my main site (it's related to a football club), and regularly get 1million+ page views a month. That'll generate around £200 a month in revenue in me (though I could raise more by attracting sponsorship myself or cutting into my editorial integrity). I'm lucky to have negotiated set fees with an agency, and get paid regardless of clickthroughs, but I would imagine return from affiliate deals will offer less and the cut is probably on the way down.

It's not a matter of overestimating, i think most intelligent people know it's going to be nothing more than a supplement to an income and not an income in itself.

Some people have a knack for converting their traffic through layout etc... with a high percentage and some are not as fortunate but there are people that can and those that help others so that they can!

It's all about what you do, how you do it and how much work you put into it so in the long run it's not an easy ride.

Personally i haven't much luck with ebay but it you wanted to try this route you could look at a BANS store. Google Build a Niche Store.

    Phil

I set up my Ebay BANS store around 6 months ago and have been earning approx £ 40 a month from it ever since. Not a fortune I admit but everything helps.I'm in the process of building some new BANS sites and hope they can generate the same amount of revenue. As for Adsense, I have a 50 page website which gets about 40-50 hits a day. Again this is not high traffic but I find that with tons of content you don't need to be getting thousands of visitors a day. Over the course of a year I probably make about £ 250 from Adsense
