Sorry i don't have the answer either as i also have the same fault but i get 3 beeps on startup, i have also tried changing the cpu, ram, graphics card, processor & motherboard but all to no avail.

Have you ran the motherboard without any ram in & disconnected all 3rd party drives, so you only have the motherboard, graphics, cpu & processor with heat sync? Have you also plugged speakers in the rear of the board to check for a beep?

Please let me know how you get on as i will do the same.
    I don't get any beeps.

Motherboard is connected to internal case speaker.

So you changed motherboard but used same cpu?

Id guess cpu problem, but id try swopping ram with another computer first to see if its that or not
I bought secondand CPU (two), motherboard, power supply (two) off ebay.
    Have new replacement graphics card.
Have a number of other memory chips.

No reason to think that all these have failed.

Tried various combinations of these, initially swapping things one at a time.
    No change.

Still getting same fault, no boot, no BIOS boot message, no beeps.

Did you swap psu for a known working one or was it something that's "been in the loft for ages"?
I'd try mo/bo out of the case just psu monitor connected -with cpu and mem installed and see if it posts

Surely if you try the mobo out of the board it still requires to be earthed as it is when its fixed to the case?

I'm off to try a workig 500w psu & new ram if this doesn't work then i give in as i have tried the board without any ram & drives connected & still don't get it to post or into the bios!

What do you mean about the wall socket, i can run other appliancs from the same socket & extension. So it doesn't look like a problem there.

Jackthenipper - a mo/bo will post out of case , a commonish problem is mo/bo shorting on the case and this cures that, also easier to swap components
Have you cleared cmos? - just remove battery for two mins.

Hi, Ye i removed the cmos battery for about 4 hours, then went back & tried again, still nothing on screen just 3 beeps.
Tried another cpu but at 500watt which was pulled from another working machine. Checked my ram in another machine all works fine aswell. The 3 beeps on my mobo website indicate it's badly seated ram which isn't possible as i have changed with multiple ram, also changed the cpu & processor, all thats left is a new mobo, but after reading what peter999 said im not so sure or confident at all.:confused::confused:

    Any more suggestions annyone???

  • try replacing the cmos battery
  • try replacing the cmos battery

Tried that aswell, still no further forward.

    It's getting annoying now

    You're telling me.

I thought my problem would be simple, bought replacement parts, swapped parts, no success. Tried other possible combinations in case I have a double fault (original fault + faulty replacement component), still no success.

No boot, no BIOS message or beeps, nothing pointing at what problem may be !!

    Very annoying & frustrating !!
