The quotes on that site seem more expensive than MoneySupermarket who don't ask you if you have Pass Plus.

So in summary pass plus is a waste of time, better having a couple of hours on motorways etc with an instructor and a couple of hours browsing insurance quotes, dont forget quidco or similar

It may be a waste of time if you think you will get cheaper insurance, but further driving training after you pass your test will never be a waste of time.

My dad was doing a Pass Plus lesson before Christmas on rural road technique.

He saw a car in the distance going too quick for the road. He advised the newly passed driver of this and told her to pull into the grass verge and stop.

Other car came the other way going too fast, saw my dad's car, hit the brakes, skidded, hit the grass verge then into his car.

The person driving the other car was 18, she passed in early December and had no Pass Plus lessons. She admitted she had never driven on a rural road before.

The driving test is supposed to include a section on a rural road, a busy A road, a town centre and a residential area, where possible.

I think rural roads are the hardest to decide what speed to drive as because many have national speed limit signs and there are many sharp bends, which driving at 40mph around can be a bit dangerous. On a dual carriageway a sharp bend is usually preceeded by a sign warning of the bend and advising you not to go faster than 50mph, for example, around the bend.

That's probably the best site out of the one's I've seen. It shows a £200 discount by one insurer for having Pass Plus. However, one that doesn't give Pass Plus discounts only charges £10 more than the £200 discounted price.
