Fortunately, there's enough gas on this forum to make up for any immediate shortfall.

    Three ways:

In old gas reservoirs in the North Sea.

In new chambers created by dissolving underground salt deposits with water. These are onshore.

    Liquefied in tanks.

A quick google shows briquette machines as basicly just a press, wouldnt you just be able to diy one with some welded metal plates a hinge and a long lever.

edit, you could do it even easier with a metal pipe to cut down on the welding

Know the sort you mean , there are some hand held ones on the market that are generally for making paper briquettes, I need something a bit more industrial because of the volume of shavings. Can produce around 5 cubic metres somedays and nothing the next...The type Im generally looking at have a feed hopper on to take a bag full at a time........But Thanks for your help, would greatly appreciate anythingelse you can dig up...

Really most important thing is that money is raised and there is determination/agreement to do it. Planning permission may be a problem onshore and typically would take about five years to design and build.
  • hmm, is conquering a gas rich country option to resolve gas crisis? after all, britain has nukes and can easily find excuse for the attack.. some countries "doubtlessly" will have some wmds for britain to take action.

Or, just like freezing icelandic assets, gordon may freeze some gas rich country's uk gas assets, etc etc.

War has a habit of destroying energy infrastructure and otherwise acting to put up prices and reduce security of supply. Difficult to freeze assets which are in someone elses territory.

Yep, best get some calor gas bottles up in the loft, along with my large amount of tins and pasta.:D

Was pottering around in the loft this evening, wife came up and found me naked under our old sunbed, all this talk of growing weed etc made me decide to have 15 minutes under the old bed. During dinner this evening my wife asked if there was anything troubling me..
