On the VERY good side I have auditions at 2 different drama schools :j on the bad side 1 of them are charging me £44 for the priviledge  This one is also in London but I have just booked my train tickets and as it is nearly 2 months in advance it is only costing me £19 for a return :j and I will be staying with my friend and that is saving me £99 for 1 night at a hotel. The other audition is in Manchester and as it is part of the college I am at now I don't have to pay an audition fee :j Hopefully, I will get more auditions but I will have to pay for them  and will have to go to London again. However, if I stay with my friend and book train tickets well in advance it will be a lot cheaper :A

I must now make sure I get caught up on my work and do the very best I can to make sure I have the grades to get in. Again, it is just my time management I need to get sorted so I can fit it all in and also ebay as well and make more money there too, which is much needed.

Please feel free to give me advice or a general kick up the bum as I know it is much needed and sometimes it feels as if I am talking to myself :rotfl:

I am so pleased that the auditions are coming in :j but I have to pay £40 for this new one  So that is £88 so far for the auditions alone  Then this new one is in London too so that is more money for travel and if I cannot stay with my friend I will have to stay in a hotel which is more money  There are still 2 places that I have applied for that I haven't heard from so fingers crossed I do get auditions but that will be another expense  there will be more audition fees and then 1 of them is in London so travel and possibly accommodation too

I must just make sure that I am budgeting properly for all the extra expenses this month  In the worst case scenario there is always money in my isa I can dip into so I don't go into my overdraft.

Well I better go and crack on with my college work to make sure I have sufficient grades to get into these drama schools or otherwise it will be a complete waste of money auditioning!!

Any advice is GREATLY received :money:

Oh I am SO tired  I have just done a very tiring 9.30am - 10pm shift  and I am doing an extra shift tomorrow so I will be getting a good pay day in March :T I must just make sure I pay it off my debt and not just waste it.

On a good note I have another audition for university :j but that's more money to pay out £35  but it's in Manchester so no travelling or accommodation.

But on a great note I forgot that we have 2 months free for council tax so must make sure to pay it straight off the debt so, again, I don't waste it.

As it is half term next week I am doing more hours at work :A and this will be in my March pay so I will have to make sure I am paying any extra money straight off my debt so I am debt free a lot sooner.

I MUST STAY FOCUSED AND POSITIVE :money:

    :smileyhea HAPPY MSE VALENTINES :kisses2:
Well I am working tonight so will definately be money saving and also money making for me :A
I seem to be wishing the days away recently. I can't wait for the 7th of every month so I can take money off my debt and add some to my isa. I am getting so impatient now I am nearing the end and it is driving me insane!!
There is only 7 more payments until my debt free day and I pay £500 to my mum and £50 into my isa so I will DEFINATELY be debt free by 30 unless something very major happens. But I really want to get it paid off sooner and start saving for my 30th birthday holiday, which I hope will be New York but it really does deppend on how much we can save. I do have a sealed pot that I put £2 coins in that is getting rather heavy so at least that is something! Even if I can only pay my debt off 2 months earlier then that is still £1100 and that will gt us somewhere. I am trying to think VERY positive and pay off the debt A LOT sooner so I can save about £3000 for New York flights, hotel and spending money for 2. It's a lot I know but I think it will be about £1500 for 7 days for the flight and hotel and then £1500 spending money as I plan to have a little shop whilst I am there but it will SO SO much better knowing that I am actually paying for things and not just sticking them on the card. :D
Well I must dash now as I have lots of college work to do and not much time as I am working a lot extra. :A
ANY advice would be greatly received or just a kick up the bum, or even a hello as I feel like I am talking to myself at the moment :rotfl:

  • Hi Saver03

Well done on making so much progress on your DF journey, you've come a long way!

Ideally I hope to clear all my debts within about 3 years (LBM was end of Dec 08), which seems to be roughly your timescale. I'll try to find some time to look back over your earlier diaries to see what hints and tips are there for me!

It's interesting to see you have a theme about time management and priorities in your current diary. What's your usual method fo time management?

I find working to lists helps to motivate me to get going, and also to break large tasks down into smaller actions so that I can tick or cross off items more frequently! I'm sure it's just psychological, but it seems to work!:rotfl:

Being tired also gives me a feeling of drowning in work, so it's important to get the amount of sleep you need. I generally find that if I give in and go to bed earlier, I'm more productive (and happier!) the following day.

Anyway, keep up the good work...I'm quite certain you'll reach your DF goal and then you can start seriously saving for NY!!

    Cheers

Thanks for the reply Beencounting I was beginning to get lonely :rotfl:

I think I will now start to break everything down and make a to do list and I am sure it will be better to actually see myself making progress and see my tasks getting smaller.

I must not get too impatient as it getting so close to my DF date and I want it here now. I will stay focused and throw all my extra money at my debt so I can start saving for New York ASAP.

  • Hi Saver03

What about posting a weekly 'to do' list on your diary thread? That way you'll be publicly declaring your intention to get things done...eek!!

It'll also allow you to come back a week later and cross off all the things you've managed to do! I'd suggest you put at least a couple of easy things on your list at first though so that you can keep your motivation up. There's nothing like crossing things off to make you want to do more!!

  • Hi Saver03

How are you managing to pay off so much of your debt with a £99 income? £500 per month is very impressive, I just see so many people here who are saying they want to pay off large debts in a fairly short amount of time and I honestly don't understand how they do it - whats the secret?! I want mine paid off by August so one month before you but as my debt is just under £1600 I think Christmas is more realistic, it just feels like its a very slow process for me even though the debt isnt that big. I already sold as much as possible on ebay which is how I got rid of the first chuck of my debt. I am also hoping to go to NY next year for my 30th though I havent started saving yet! Good luck!
