LG viewty unlocking question

Hi

I recently bought a Viewty on Vodafone, specifically to get it unlocked. I have ordered the NUC from Vodafone, but obviously LG's service dept is closed til Monday.

I've been reading on here about "newer phones can't be unlocked for free" and "can't be unlocked by cheap unlockers" what does this mean? Vodafone only had the Chocolate and one other phone listed on their database but they said it was just out of date.

I assume they'll still be able to send me a NUC code for it right?
