    Thanks Karen

Are you thinking the same way ?

Pretty much, since working from home I seem to have become a hermit - neglected time with friends, socialising etc as much as I used too and not to mention my weight has bloomed (I like putting it that way ;)).

Went for a meal saturday night with friends (couples) and one of our friends brought champagne as signed the contracts on their first home together....needless to say I am happy for them but at the same time I wanted to cry and OH and I are putting off so much due to my debt  OH has been fab but it has made me realise how much I am putting on hold due to my debts and need to find that balance. I like your idea of starting a course in Sept - anything in particular?? xx

I have a leaning towards interior design ! It's not related in any way to my current job but it interests me

Know what you mean by being plesed for other people but it making you reflect on your own life  I do sometimes wonder whether the debt is the reason or an excuse for why I am not making any progress in my life

Wow - go for it! I think it's important to do things that interest you and you never know where it may lead!

Agree totally, think it's both a reason and an excuse in some ways and always frustrating  This weekend has kind of hit home a little and am trying turn the emotional side of things into a positive and really try and kick this debt as at least then i'll have options and can make better decisions. One day eh  x

Am defo trying to think like this :D Have a few plans for seeing friends over the next few weeks, plans to get fitter and actually use my gym membership :o and keep my working hours under control so I can manage the rest of it ;)

Like me, you have quite a lot of debt and are in it for the long haul, I think we need to make sure we are still living a life whilst we pay the debts off, even if it takes a little longer to pay. In my case I have at least 5 years to go , I would be a recluse by then :rotfl::rotfl:

And I have no OH so the potential to be a muttering old lady with lots of carrier bags always looms on my horizon

I love the plan Shoe Gal!! Definitely do a course. Like Karen says you never know where it could lead.

I totally hear you with the working hours thing. I really need to get more routine into my working life aswell and work regular, normal hours, but every time something goes wrong (which is fairly frequently) I end up working late to pick up the pieces. I maybe wouldn't mind so much if it was appreciated. Grrrr. Maybe in my new job it'll be easier....might be getting a bit ahead of myself there. It is frustrating though, because I see people around me who do the same thing with work, but they have a partner to go home to. When I leave work late several nights on the trot, there's nobody there to greet me or to relax with, so I think single people really have to make their own lives more of a priority, which is difficult trying to juggle that with a demanding job. Do the course though!!!
Though no one can go back and make a brand new start, anyone can start from now and make a brand new ending

    Thanks Gwen :A

I know what you mean about not being appreciated - have been feeling pretty pants about work the last week or so when usually I actually enjoy my job  Think it's the general feeling in a lot of companies at the moment, everybody is expected to do more for less reward
