cutting down my bulldog broadband price, how to go about it?

I have been with bulldog broadband primetime 2000 (2mb line unlimited) for 18 months now and pay £25 a month.

I dont really want to change providers as the service from bulldog has been good and dont really need faster than 2mb.

I know you can get 2mb for around £15, how abouts should i threathen bulldog to match a a similar price?

I dont want to go to their 8mb product as i dont want them to manage my telephone line.

Also if i threat by asking for MAC number, and i write in saying that if i dont use the number, my account doesnt get cancelled, just like PAC numbers for mobile phones. This way i have a credible threat without being terminated.

Thanks

  • I see that their doing it at 9.75 what is that about? I only hear bad things about them. I'm looking for broadband now, and there about the cheapest.

    Thanks Neil

    Hey Neil,

Bulldog was carp until last year. I've experienced bad days with them. But the service is cool since the past 4-5 months now.

    Cheers

  • I phoned them and they want to install a new line into my house, is this normal???

    Thanks Neil

unless you've got BT line, they will install a line at your place.
  • Thats what i thought! The lad on the end of the phone said that they install? Do you have to route your phone through them? It is really cheap at £9.75 to good to be true?

    Thanks Neil

  • I dont want to change my phone line to them even if its dirt cheap as i dont trust their customer services, have had decent record with BT.

If you want to get the products they are selling now, then you have to change your line rental to them, but i got broadband from them 18 months ago, when u just paid for the service and not the telephone rental.

Anyone had experience at reducing the prices while sticking with a BT line?

I am surprised you are paying £25 per month for 2mb,i am more than happy with BT at £17.99 for my 2mb.
Never had any problems, and it does not drop below the 2mb.
  • but the bulldog 2mb is unlimited, unlike BT and other providers that impose download limits.

for me, i need unlimited :)

£25 is still good value for 2mb unlimited
