Hiya Radish and Happy New Year.
Just got a new car myself. I ended up raiding the ISA instead of putting on 0% credit card since the dealership said they'd charge me a fee for paying by credit card!MFW: Nov 2008 £156k, Jun 2015 £129k, Jun 2017 £114k.0 -

That's what they told us, I can put £500 on then I will be charged, so think I will be raiding the ISA/car fund account, when I can find a car I like
Weighed myself this morning 3lb gained over Christmasso back to being healthy again
Some excitement this morning, just about to drive to work, when a big gust of wind blew my For Sale sign down the road, swiftly followed by my wheelie bin
My reaction, tutted, laughed, then left. Got home tonight For Sale sign at side of house and bin back in, only problem is I'm not sure which neighbour to thank as I don't no where they ended upMortgage Aug 12 £165K, Aug 19 £0

This might be a very odd post as things dribble out my brain
Have managed 1 year without eating crisps and have decided that this will probably have to be for the rest of my life as I can't trust myself yet to just have one packet :rotfl:
My smear result came back OK so no need to "just relax" for another 3 years :T
My dad got rushed through the heart specialist this week. Appointment on Tuesday, surgery on Friday (13th as Dad kept reminding everyone) as his heart is still beating at 150/minute even with the pacemaker. 3.5 hours in surgery and then 30 minutes after they had finished his heart has gone back to 150/minute. Feel a bit pants as I've had to stay away from him as full of cold (first cold in 4 years) but will get to see him soon.
BF had 2 viewing booked for his house but then both cancelled. I had 1 viewing for mine but then they cancelled
New Year Resolution No 1 completed as today I bought a 2 year old Fiesta Zetec, have had to take some money out my ISA to pay for it and have cleared out another saving account as well (so now I can't win the Halifax £100K prize draw) Can pick it up tomorrow :j
Weight loss has stalled so need to get back on track, I'm blaming my cold as I seemed to be hungry all last week and I'm sure you should feed a cold, starve a flu
Plus need to go away this week with work, only a overnight stay and its some extra pennies for next month
And that's all folks (plus fingers are tired from typing)Mortgage Aug 12 £165K, Aug 19 £0

:j I have my new car :j Its parked outside :j I have no money in my bank
Whilst waiting for the kettle to boil I watched a cat sniff it and then wee over the front alloy
Plans for this evening - look at shiny new car
Ask BF to lend me some money as I forgot about the school reunion at the end of Jan otherwise its Lime & Soda all night
I lost 3lbs this week so the stuff your face with pizza diet must work
30 days to payday - its going to be a long monthMortgage Aug 12 £165K, Aug 19 £0

January definitively felt like a BLAH month, with not much happening.
Still counting the days to payday only 10 more to go, then I can pay BF back and see money in my account.
Tax refund for old car came so need to cash that in £108 plus I have £70 in slummy so think I will be visiting the bank one day this week
New neighbours have moved in, so have given them a friendly wave, resisting going round to ask why they didn't buy mine :rotfl:
Have been invited to a wedding in March, girl I shared a house with whilst at uni, so have been shopping for outfits this weekend with the BF, he has a new suit and I have a dress with matching jacket. So this will be the 3rd time BF will have seen me in a dress in 9 years.
Other friend from uni had a baby boy this week, so lots of pictures on FB to look at, he looks a whopper for 7lbsMortgage Aug 12 £165K, Aug 19 £0

Hi Radish, it's good to 'see' you again! I'm suffering the January blues too. Mine are always late because I have the excitement of my birthday in the middle of the month to get through, but then January attacks me with a vengeance that takes me halfway into February!Borrowed £150,000 in an offset tracker mortgage in May 2007 - MFD May 2041 (67)

I think a lot of people are feeling a bit blah about January. I feel like its just work-home-work at the minute. Looking forward to spring now.
Good restraint with the neighbours - do you think you'll crack in the end and ask them?

Hey Radish
January is definitely a blah month .... and february I think!! Dark and cold and meh!
Still - I am dealing with it with one of those blue lamps, lots of cups of tea and also dreaming of my summer holiday !
Well done on dress purchasing- I only wear them when absolutely necessary (weddings!) so I understand your feelings I think!
Glad new neighbours in, once youve got to know them over a drink or 2 maybe you can ask! ....0 -
Feb is definetly turning out to be BLAH as well
Its the whole work, home, sleep, work, home, sleep and an attack of lazyitis so now living in a tip of a house as well
6 days to payday, this month has definetly been a real eye-opener, having to watch every penny and borrow money of BF to get through the month, I should count my blessing that this is a one off due to the car purchase (and how lucky that I had money saved so didn't need to get a loan/finance), but because everything is BLAH I just feel the need to moan and feel sorry for myself.
Also have a case of the green eyed monster about the old/new neighbours, as they got to move and I feel stuck in a rut about my house not selling but feel to BLAH to do anything about it
So now all you lovely peeps who read this - need to tell me to get over myself and kick me up the bottom
Spent an hour on the phone to my god-daughter who is home from uni for a few days, it was all doom and gloom, she has split up with her BF and everyone in her family "forgot" her birthday. The only card she received was from me so I'm glad that I posted it down to her, so have arranged to see her on Saturday for a big hug and a few drinks :rotfl:Mortgage Aug 12 £165K, Aug 19 £0

Hi Radish- read the quote below from my first post when starting my diary. You really helped me to change my waysTilly_MFW_in_6_YRS wrote: »A new diary as we enter the last two months of 2011. I have been lurking for almost a year and have found so many of you inspirational, particularly Billy, Michelle, Radish, and Museum Worker.
January and February are two miserable months, however, the lighter mornings and evenings are on the way and I am pretty sure things will feel different in a day or two.
How sad that your GDs relatives didn't send cards, that's so sad for her but lovely of you to remember and be seeing her this weekend. Have a great time with her.
One last thing, go and look at your car - I am sure that will bring a smile to your face.
