  • Got my draft DRO form today so going to make the payment tomorrow. Can anyone advise how long it will be to find out the outcome? Fingers crossed all will be fine!

    That's right (Hi Orville)

One or two days after the actual submission by the Intermediary is normal, as long as the £90 was paid on or before the day the application is submitted.

The DRO Unit do occasionally pull one out of the process for closer scrutiny and more questions. I've had a couple like that recently so don't know if I've just been unlucky.

    Hi

I got a DRO in May 2009, I just wondered if it was on your credit file for 6 years from the date you registered (so would be off in 2015) or is it 6 years from when it finished (so would be off in 2016).

    Thanks

    Hi Boo

You must have been one of the very first people to get a DRO!

Your CRF will reflect the date the DRO became live, so it will drop off in 2015.

    Regards

  • Hi Dennis

Thanks for that. I got my credit report from experian and the DRO doesn't show on there it says my rating is good and my score is 926. I know the DRO is on my file thou somewhere as I went to see about a mortgage and failed due to this.

Do you know why it isn't showing on there?

    Thanks

It is probably on equifax. Mine is the same it is on one and not the other although off the top of my head i can't remember which it is. Sign up to noodle, its free and if yours is like mine it should be on there too.
  • Thanks I will try that now. Any tips on how to build up my credit rating?

I really want to get a mortgage with my partner once the 6 years is up do you think this is possible?

I'll be honest and say i can't really give you too much advice on that except if you can be disiplined then apply for a credit card keeping it a low limit. Use it and pay the balance off in full each month. If you can do that then i'd have though come the end of the dro you'd have a healthy history showing regular payments off and an account kept in good order.

I am sure though that someone will come along more qualified to answer that though :-)
