Ive tried changing my gas supply to british Gas, as my current supplier southern electric has sent me the past 2 bills incorrectly asking for over £2000+ then when i query it dropping it right down, so i went on line to change to BG and it seems they wont accept until my balance with SE is paid as my online application has been outstanding for months? just wanted someone who had gone ahead with DRO to confirm what happened.0

Hi everyone,
I had an initial appointment with the CAB today, just wanted to share something I learned about benefits on the SOA for those who need it and haven't clocked on to it like I hadn't... Benefits are calculated by (what you actually get every month) divided in to weeks, times 52 weeks and divided by 12.
So, for example, I had put on my SOA that I get 196.16 housing benefit every two weeks, so added this up to £392.32 per month, but it actually comes to (196.16/2) times 52 weeks then divided by 12 months, which means I get £425.01 per month. It doesn't make a huge difference, but altered my surplus income.
I'm now in a queue waiting for my actual DRO-form-filling appointment, so I am hoping it won't take too long...0 -
Hi again - anyone have any comments about my SOA on post 1394
Does it look right for a DRO for me
Any advice and/or comments would be appreciated - many thanks
Looks near enough for your intermediary to play with - can't see anything that shouts 'problem' but will need a few things shuffling around0 -
Many thanks FatBelly - I will get on with it then through CCCS

Hi guys, I am in approx £9k of debt with credit cards, and cannot afford to pay anything towards them. I am on Long term sick from work recieving SSP at less than £80 per week. This is swallowed up by household bills. I live with my Partner who is paying the mortgage on the place we live, I am not named on the mortgage due to not being accepted for my poor credit score. Would the take her finances into account when i apply for a DRO, and with her paying the mortgage would that class me as a homeowner? Any advice guys?0

I was approved for a DRO at the end of May this year. However, my car insurance is due for renewal and I am changing insurers. I pay monthly but I am a little worried that this counts as applying for credit. In the DRO it states that you cannot apply for credit for more than £500 and my insurance will not exceed that. But it is still bothering me that I may be rejected or it will somehow show up that I am trying to apply for 'credit'. Also is it a bad idea to go with Co-op Insurance considering one of my debts was with the Co-operative Bank? Will this count as making payments towards a creditor or they may challenge my DRO?? Any help appreciated, thanks0

Unlikely you will be able to pay monthly, as usually this is subject to a credit check. I believe some insurance companys will allow you to pay monthly, but only with a rather substantial deposit.I used to be Snow White, but I drifted.Mae West
