The right hand one is a more recent construction, lower weight, different casing. Oh, and the plastic casing is black rather than metalic coloured.
Other than that they're probably identical.
Reviews say ""A good all round TV for the price., it's only weekness is the sound quality." for the right hand one which either means that the manufacturer moved the speaker when they changed the casing, the people who spent £50 more are not as interested in sound quality or that the reviews on the argos site are tailored to the original price to make you spend £50 more when they're not on sale.
Is this a trick question?"Gold is the money of kings; silver is the money of gentlemen; barter is the money of peasants; but debt is the money of slaves." - Norm Franz0 -
No just wondered if I was missing something! Thinking of buying one but didn't notice the casing colour difference as I was concentrating on feature!

Im thinking the sites probably got something wrong. ANY change at ALL should have a different model number ~ whilst theyre both the same.:idea:0

I'm being put off it by rubbish sound quality reviews but need to chat to OH as he uses a cinema system so not sure if sound is relevant.
Good point is also 3 year guarantee.

Id suggest a Panasonic plasma or a Sony LCD if you want quality viewing.:idea:0

There's a review of the Hitachi L42VP01U here
It looks differnet to both of the ones you linked to but the review is not that good, 7/10 overall. Empiredirect will sell you a Panasonic 42" Plasma with a year warranty for £500 which has had nothing but exellent reviews. It's my problem, it's my problem
If I feel the need to hide
And it's my problem if I have no friends

OH looking at Panasonic LCD which has good reviews. We don't want Plasma because we are being green and plasma uses twice as much power as LCD.

If you going to be mainly watching SD stuff i.e. Freeview / Sky DVD go for the panasonic plasma and get a couple more low energy light bulb to salve your conscience, it'll be worth it
see what I mean - Link0 -
