Morning everyone !
I've set aside today to do the end of year Guide accounts so won't be doing much 'frugal' stuff at all.
DD2 is back from her trip to Disney tonight so looking forward to hearing all about thatShe's been texting me and has had a great time ! She says she's got some money left lol .... I told her to spend it
(I'm not counting school/guide trips etc into our annual budget as I think they should be taking every opportunity they can while they are still young).
Weather isn't too clever here so not sure about a trip to the butchers on my bike. I'll see how the accounting goes and if I get time and the weather clears up a bit then I'll probably go. I've made a list so will ring it through so it's ready for when I get there. JD, I use the one on the high street, not tried the other one, but I might do next time.
Have to agree with postingalwaysposting - a new OH is exciting and very on-topic ! Is he as 'frugally minded' as you? Sorry, now i'm being nosy. I think my DH had his 'lightbulb' moment 2 nights ago. He actually got excited about me saving money (something he's not really done before) so that's a major hurdle. Not that he wasn't on board before, he just never really saw why I was so keen and enthusastic about being frugal !
Anyway, I'd better go and get on with these accounts, otherwise i'll still be sitting there at midnight !
Just very quickly though before I go, feeling rather smug with myself as I've lost all the weight I put on over Xmas (6lb) and that's just by cutting down on my portions, moving a bit more AND STILL eating what I want ! :j :j :j
Catch up with you all later ......... have a great day xxx:jWeight loss to date 1st 11.5lb :j0 -
Pap - I love anything on toast:D
Jtb - Yes he does think the same way about money as I do which is very cool! Glad your DH is now on board:T Makes life so much easier when you are on the same page!!:D Well done on the weightloss:j thats really good, you carry on feeling smug!!!

Oh I love homemade burgers they are the biz compared to packet ones! I must go and see what Jamie O's recipe calls for. My lamb biriani is cooking away and OH is looking dubious.... never had a dish where the rice goes in the pot along with everything else!
Another burger-y type recipe that I have done a couple of times involves minced turkey (ultra cheap) and spring onions, coriander, garlic and stuff and it's really nice. Do you like turkey mince? I'll dig the recipe out if you do.Wendy x0 -
Ohhh Jamie, were they nice? Did you get the reciepe from his book? I ahavent had a burger in ages as they are so un healthy... would love a 'healthier' one0

cat - ive never tried turkey mince!! but yes please to the recipe:)

Heya JD!
How is the Jamie Oliver book? Is it good? I have been thinking of getting a few more cook books as am getting stuck in a right ol' food rut at the mo! Do the meals work out quite cheap?
Also see you got the book Twillight! My DD got that for Xmas but reckon it might be a bit too old for her so was thinking of pinching it and giving it a read myself! There are 4 of those books I think? Hope Twillight is the first!
Anyhoooos hope you are ok! I have been all over the place recently...on a bit of a downer as work is starting to seriously hack me off so want to learn some new skills by teaching myself a few things and then hopefully get out by the summer time?!?
On that note I is off to the land of nod! Take care xxx:j 'Proud To Be Dealing With My Debts' - DFW Nerd member 866 :j0 -

Morning Jamie! Glad to hear everything going so well. I hope you have a great day shopping - how come you get a free lunch?
My lamb biriani turned out really well - OH (who isn't a curry fan) ate three portions! Which meant I had no leftovers for work so I took HM veg soup instead. Last night we were supposed to have chicken thighs stuffed with mozzarella and rosemary but the chicken had gone off - royally off! Which kind of makes that pack of chicken not good value after all. I think the fridge was too high. So we ended up with sausages to go with the cauliflower and leek cheese instead - ah well.
Have a lovely day.Wendy x0 -
Cat - Lunch was paid for using Tesco Clubcard deals vouchers:) Thats a real pain about the chicken!
Yesterday was a good day:) Had a lovely day out shopping in chichester. I picked up a few bits while I was there, some toiletries in boots as I had some extra points vouchers. Also bought a pairing knife and a spatula in the cookshop. Will update totals later.
Went to be really early as was quite tired out!
Will need to go pick up a few bits from tesco today, mainly milk and fresh fruit, veg and squash.
DS1&2 are off to their dads for the weekend so things should be pretty quiet around here, planning a chilled but productive weekend.November NSD's - 70
