With the cheap rooms payment is taken on booking.0 -

Yup, displeasure indeed.
No wonder Premier Travel Inns never has to offer £9 "deals".
Its service quality ensures the kind of repeat business Travel Lodge must only dream about.0 -
I spent quiet alot of time and effort in sorting this mess out today with Travelodge Customer Services and my bank A&L.
The money involved amounts to through my bank account was confirmed as
34 payments of £36 each and 14 payments of £18 each plus 7 payments of £36 on c/c
.I have all the codes supplied by the bank now and four of these were given to Travelodge. They say they can not as yet trace one payment. They also state that their handling agent also cannot trace a single payment.
They have advised their IT dept and I am waiting for the supervisor at CS to get back to me.
A fax has also been mentioned to refund but that may follow soon.
No booking have been accepted but strangely payments were made each time.
These payments appear to be in limbo but has put bank charges and later intrest onto my account.
All through this Travelodge has said they are not to blame.
The bank doesn't see it that way.
Travelodge has suggested that 'Ring Fencing'could be a factor.????????????
A&L have been good enough to let me use their phone in branch today but I know my house phone has racked up around £5 plus over £25 of overdrawn bank fees.
Of course I may get the bank charges back when I assume the payments don't go through, but it seems quiet an experience and luckily we have been able to move funds around.I dread what it may have been like if we had little cash.
Finally I do hope you all look at your bank statements and speak to your credit card company if you had a 'No booking has been made notice' when you used the Travelodge mobile site.
All internet users should be sure that no payments are made if there is a problem flagged at checkout. This system was a total farce
Also I think I should be able to take up my complaint further once I have examined their T&C's again.0 -
I booked during the previous sale.Moneys gone out of my bank account.called the next day to check i had a booking and the lady gave me a confirmation,Meanwhile travelodge customer services emailed about 3 weeks later saying they had no record of the booking and to fax them a bank statement.I then emailed them asking them to check there records as i have since got a confirmation letter and this was about 4 weeks ago and still no reply.2012 wins! can of deodorant, a personalised Bean, craft show tickets, Top Gear Live Tickets, Case of sourz fusion0

Hi mshappy
Did you book via the mobile site?Their mobile site does say they may have issues with different browsers,I just wondered if using Firefox was the issue with me.
At Travelodge I am speaking directly to the supervisor 'Tracey'and have a direct dial number without using the high call charge number they provide.I await further information from her on Monday as she has put the complaint to the IT Dept.
Currently my statement or mini statement does not show as each of the 38 items on there individually, however internet banking tell me they have it listed. They are just waiting for Travelodge to come in and claim the money.
At some point I will be preparing formal letters of complaint to both the bank and Travelodge for a full investigation into this fiasco.
If no booking has been made, like the system said to me,then absolutely no money should be even attempted to be taken from the customer's account.
Please IM me for any further updates you may here from Travelodge.I have her number local rate number if you need it0 -
Can you possibly Pm me the number please. There email team is useless.Really need to get this sorted as don't want to drive 200 odd miles and be turned away.2012 wins! can of deodorant, a personalised Bean, craft show tickets, Top Gear Live Tickets, Case of sourz fusion0

Following my attempted bookings 30/12/08
29/01/09 Travelodge HQ have said that there were some problems with their 'LISA'
automated booking service. This is their additional booking service.
Because they had a high volume no bookings were made for me.The bookings became
'Ring Fenced'which meant the monies meant for the bookings were placed into a holding account by my bank to be used for payment but as the reservations failed the monies were never collected. These have been returned to my account.
I think I have spent around £10 in phone calls to my bank and Travelodge, even using some local area rate numbers on cheaper call tariffs, and there is no compensation given.
I will pursue this with Travelodge shortly0
