Do you actually need 7 seats or do you need to fit 3 baby seats plus ma and pa?
I have a Berlingo...a 5 seater, with 3 full size seats, all diagonal seatbelts, in the back. Soooo much boot space it is unbelievable!
Worth looking into if you do only need 3 kiddy seats.Who made hogs and dogs and frogs?

I have a Kia Sedona which are good value for money. When we were looking for a 7 seater we looked at some chrysler voyagers and then spotted the sedona which has a very similar spec but quite a bit cheaper.
Couldn't tell you off the top of my head what the mpg is but its the first car we've ever had that has got us all the way to Cornwall from Essex on less than 3/4's of a tank of diesel
Not sure how to do a link so here's the website address with all the details and specs
http://www.kia.co.uk/sedonahome.aspThere is a forgotten, nay almost forbidden word which means more to me than any other. That word is England.

I am a KIA man too, Good value for money and a nice sound diesel engine. I get about 70 miles on £10 but it's an auto which may be a little thirsty.
Loads of space, get a reversing alarm though, helps save the dents on the corners.
The best car I have used was in the USA a few weeks ago. Probably can't get it here, but the Chrysler Voyager stow and go, was fab. Every seat can fold away if you want or just a a few. I got 2 adults 4 large kids (teens) 8 cases in it. It was like a tardis!NO to pasty tax We won!!!! Just shows that people power works! Don't be apathetic to your cause!0 -
I'd definitely avoid the vauxhall zafira if you need to use the 2 back seats. there really is no boot space at all if you use the 2 back seats. If you normally use 5 seats and only want the 2 extra seats for occasional use then i'd consider it.0

I have a toyota Lucida,(2 years) which is a japanese import. I cannot recommend this vehicle enough. They are cheap to buy if you are not scared of the fact its an import. I have found mine to be extremely reliable and i am looking to buy another when i can afford it, Great size boot as well. Parts no problem to get. My last car was also an import and was a mitsubishi spacewagon, which was very reliable but had not boot room.“Love yourself first and everything else falls into line. The best of course was the peugeot 505 - we had two over our child carrying years - loads of room, loads of boot space, carried 3 children, 2 adults, camping gear and 5 bikes!
Why did they ever stop making them!
Have now graduated to Berlingo - which has space for 3 lanky young adults and camping stuff - have not tried it with bikes though.0 -
We recently got a Toyota Lucida off Ebay for £1000.( ours is about as basic as they get)It is fantastic,so much space, room for 8 people to sit comfortably and still got a huge boot space. It feels like a bit of a tardis, in that its so big when your in and doesn't look that huge on the drive. All the seats fold flat to form a comfortable sized bed.For a bit more money £1175 + you can get one with captain seats(swivel right round), tables, curtains, huge sunroof etc.
It's an imported one,I think the previa is very similar.
I was looking for ages for a 7-8 seater( we were on a tight budget,so most weren't in our price bracket anyway)I looked into loads of different ones.Since buying I've noticed loads of other people carriers whilst out and about, and it still looks like the best layout, for max space.I've not seen anything I'd rather have(except snazier ones!)
If you do get one of these my partner got a pretty good deal with his insurance I think the company is called 2gether.0 -
For economy and versatility (but no kids) I now use a Peugeot Partner - got it dirt cheap and I have to say it is impressive - loads of room and versatile seating, cheap to run 1.9D engine, insurance unbelieveably cheap for such a big car - but NOT in the same class as my Voyager - see post #2K eep
