Noise Reduction techniques?

I wouldnt panic yet. Your house is empty atm so the noise is more intrusive. Once the furniture is in and you also have the tele on, washing machine going, fridge humming away it will drown out a lot of the noise. I know myself if Im sat here during the day with no background noise I can hear conversations from next door clearly, once the tv is on (and I do have it low so cant hear it in the next room) I cant hear a thing unless I really want to - tend to tune it out
Our walls are thin. Out of consideration for our neighbours none of us in our little terrace have the tv/stereo against the party wall to help with the problem, using wall units, bookcases and wardrobes on that wall also helps0
