    orange will give you the unlock code, but i don't know how much that would cost.

    there is no free solution yet.

    Plus being on orange direct and no cashback you could (afaik this is still the case) downgrade the tariff after 6 months to a nice cheap ovp one to make the total cost may be 60 quid less - are these handsets still going for over 200 quid on ebay?
