This is a great buy although it will benefit immensely from an extra 256MB Memory (or 512). You can also buy a Warranty Extension (up to three years) for under £60 from eBuyer.
    Can I help?
  • Not a bad laptop for the price, although the Medions we sell in Woolies are pretty similar spec wise, for £449 (was £399 last week...)

I rather the Medion because its black, silver looks naff and scuffs too easily on notebooks...
  • Are thise warrenties any good through ebuyer? I have just got a laptop from dell so may be interested in one.

No there not. This is a 1.6ghz Pentium-M laptop with Centrino technology. The Woolies one is a 1.3ghz Celeron-M laptop.

The warranty these guys are talking about is an Acer warranty which is very good but you have to buy it within a certain time of purchasing an Acer Laptop. There are two versions: one gives you 3 years, the other (costs more) includes accidental damage cover too except there is an excess for TFT damage.

    Hi,

Rang around several stores and stocks seem to be desperately low (not surprising I guess) they're saying that the 4021WLMi has been reduced from £568.00 to £498.00 . Can anyone confirm that the price has indeed been reduced from £569.00 to £448.00 in store?.

    Thank you :-).

    Hi,

A recent experience can confirm that the build quality of a notebook from Medion does not seem to be that of the same build quality of Acer products (in my humble opinion). Also, I think that two completely different processors are being compared here therefore it doesn't sound like you're not comparing like for like.

Not sure what Acers technical support is like but Medion technical support is in my humble opinion obismal. One thing I think is annoying with Medion is that they categorically refuse to offer technical support by e-mail (why they quote a hotline e-mail address on manuals supplied with their products I really do not know) on each and every occasion that i've needed technical support from them they've responded with what can only be deemed as an automated response, even though it's been sent by a customer service/technical support representitive (which takes about a week, maybe more to send) that says words to the affect "unfortunately we cannot answer questions of this nature/offer product support by e-mail, please ring us on 0870.. (I hate 0870 numbers (however there's a regionalised number on MSE's sister site saynoto0870.com)).

    Best Regards.

    Isn't that a different processor?...
