high dividend in 2009

Hi

Out of curosity, which company will perform well in 2009 and offer high dividend for share holder. I am interested to put my money in stock market in a long term in order to obtain high dividend. Know best one?

When you find out you can also tell us who will win the FA cup and grand national.

What they mean is no one knows this for sure. Put it this way, 12 months ago the bank shares looked to have a good yield and reasonable security

You might want to consider utilities, average yield 5% it looks like

    Mmmm, credit crunch. Tasty.
  • Just the yield on a ftse tracker would be 4% ?

Not sure if that is including the yield on banks which would then be incorrect

Shell are paying 6.6% and I believe they have never cut their dividend ( around 8% a few weeks ago).
