My granny was left handed. She'd cut the slices ok, but always end up with a triangular-shaped wedge at the end. :rotfl:If you lend someone a tenner and never see them again, it was probably worth it.0 -
I'm left-handed, and I always get left with a triangular "wedge", too! I lay it flat on the breadboard and manage to get another slice out of it. It's OK if I cut the whole loaf myself, but if someone right-handed cuts a slice they get a very uneven one. And then I get another wonky one when I go back to cutting it."Cheap", "Fast", "Right" -- pick two.0

Having made my bread in the panny, I have tried to leave it as long as poss before slicing but I just can't get a decent slice, more like wedges or with a hole in the middle. I slice the crust off ok but then it's downhill from then on.
Can anyone help? how do you all get decent slices? does it have to be completely cold first?
ThanksA penny saved is one you don't have to earn! :wave:0 -
We have one of these

I was sceptical about it - a lot of money for a lump of plastic - but I have to say it does work. We got ours second hand from ebay so it didn't cost as much.
Yesterday OH forgot to set the breadmaker to finish earlier and we only had 15 minutes from the bread coming out of the Panasonic and my leaving the house. OH did perfect slices from the warm loaf using this. So I still got my sandwichesEnjoying an MSE OS life0 -
You MUST have a decent knife. I have one of these, had it for years, gets used for everything from roasts to bread !
